[edit] Disownment by the family
This information that he was disowned by his father because of conversion is taken from the memoirs of Bazhanov and this is entirely invented. In fact, his father Mikhail Sverdlov was baptized at about the same time in order to marry his second wife Maria Aleksandrovna Kormiltseva, with whom he had 2 children (German, 1905−1984, and Aleksandr, b. 1910), both baptized. Further, it is claimed that he converted because of restrictions on Jews to live in big cities. This cannot be true since the family already lived in a big city outside the pale of settlement (Nizhny Novgorod).--24.185.132.44 (talk) 01:19, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
