[edit] Dhahran Academy

Hello,

You seem to know Dhahran Academy since you said you attended it. I was just wondering if it is a high school level academy. Eagle 15:39, Apr 4, 2005 (UTC)

I think the American section of it is a high school now, as well as everything else before that. I don't know too much about the American section of the school, as I was in the British section (there was also a Dutch section, supposedly). The British section was - and still appears to be - a primary school only. It seems to have changed a lot since I was last there in 1993.
I think the most relevant website is this - http://www.isgdh.org/ --Zilog Jones 11:22, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Thanks, that was quick! --Eagle 16:37, Apr 5, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] CD/hole/10ct coin

Dear Zilog Jones, Do you really think that your contribution

There is a hole in the centre of the disc, usually used by a some form of clamp or clip device within the player to hold it in place and allow it to be rotated by a motor. The diameter of the hole is 15mm - coincidentally the same size as a Dutch 10 cent coin.

will add to the value of the CD article? Specifically, your remark regarding the fact that the diameter is 15 mm, which is the size of a Dutch coin. Why is this so important? Each and every size has been used somewhere, so it is not difficult to relate anything with anything. Is there something of historical relevance in this fact? If so, please add, otherwise this 'fact' can better be removed. Dsc 16:43, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I've replied on your talk page --Zilog Jones 17:54, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] unstubbing FFV

i disagree--most of it is a list, tables, and pictures. this is another article i could update substantially but i haven't due to laziness. i still think it's a stub--the actual content is minimal. Lockeownzj00 02:28, 21 July 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, i see what you mean after looking at it again - anyone who just watched the opening would be able to make that staff list! It's hard to define exactly what a stub is, especially since some articles are like one or two sentences. You can put the stub template back if you want. --Zilog Jones 16:31, 21 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikimedia UK/Wikimania 2006

Hi, this is a circular to Wikipedians in Ireland to draw your attention to Wikimedia UK, where the establishment of a local Wikimedia chapter for the United Kingdom (and possibly for the Republic of Ireland) is being discussed. See the talk page, as well as the mailing list; a meetup will take place to discuss matters in London in September, for anyone who can get there. On another topic, plans are being drawn up for a UK bid for Wikimania 2006, which would be conveniently close to Ireland. On the other hand, Dublin's bid was one of the final three last year - might we bid again? --Kwekubo 19:40, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

I tried improving Arctic Adventure, Penguin Adventure, and Bio Miracle Mikkete Upa to the point where i could with all the materials i coudl find. Can you review this artciles and see if theres anythign you see lacking? Also check the article i made on Pentarou, just ot make sure im not creating any fancruft. --Larsinio 18:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Important WikiProject Automobiles Discussion

Hello! As a Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles member, I just thought you might want to input your opinions on an important discussion we're currently having about whether articles regarding similar vehicles should be merged into one or split by brand. If you would like to comment or read further, please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles#Articles of Similar Vehicles. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and feedback. [edit] Japanese Cars Task Force?

Hi! I have seen you made many important edits to articles on Japanese cars. I was wondering whether you might be interested in joining the proposed Japanese Cars Task Force? (see top of WikiProject Automobiles talk page) Bravada, talk - 18:24, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
PS. I have also noticed the text you put in the Category:keicars page - I guess whenever the article refers in whole to a vehicle that is not a keicar at all, it should have the category removed. If the article refers to a keicar in part, it's totally comfortable in this category. An example would be the Autobianchi A112, which I put in the Category:Lancia, as it was sold as Lancia for some time, but it an Autobianchi for the most part. So, you get examples like that all around, I guess there is no need for such a disclaimer, it makes the category look suspicious and pointless (provided there actually ARE non-keicar models listed there).

[edit] Wikiproject Automobiles Notification

Hi Zilog Jones, you were on the list of members at WikiProject Automobiles and we are introducing a new way of listing members, as the old list was becoming too long. Our new method involves having all of our members in a category.

To add yourself to the category just add the userbox to your user page by putting {{Wiki Auto Project}} where you want the userbox. Alternatively if you don't like the userbox you can add [[Category:WikiProject Automobiles members|Zilog Jones]] to your userpage.

If you no longer wish to be a member of the project, simply don't add the userbox or category, there's no pressure. Thanks for your time, James086Talk | Contribs 04:42, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Prodata-media.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Prodata-media.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 16:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Prodata-media.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Prodata-media.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 16:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:MazdaBadgeOld.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MazdaBadgeOld.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Image source problem with Image:Chatty tom.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Chatty tom.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:50, 6 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 07:50, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Chatty tom.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Chatty tom.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:26, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
