Ziebart

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ziebart International Corporation is a company based in Troy, Michigan, United States, and is the worldwide franchisor of the Ziebart brand of automotive aftermarket stores. Some of the services offered by Ziebart stores include rustproofing; automobile detailing; scratch, dent, and scuff repair; window tinting; and the installation of after-market accessories.

Ziebart also has a co-branding relationship with Rhino Linings USA (spray-on liner) and Speedy Auto Glass (glass repair and replacement). Most Ziebart locations are franchises.

[edit] History

Ziebart opened its first outlet in Detroit in 1959. Its first international location opened in Windsor, Ontario, Canada in 1962. As of 2006 there are approximately 500 locations in 44 countries worldwide.[1]

In the United Kingdom the brand was well-known in the 1970s as the provider of a form of car rust-proofing treatment. As cars began to receive galvanised bodies and other forms of improved rust-proofing at the manufacturing stage, the concept of "Ziebarting" declined.
