[edit] Use of Vampir

"Vampir gear was first used in combat in February 1945."

What is the source of this information? I have never seen any written source about use of it.

"310 units were delivered to the Wehrmacht at the final stages of the war."

Again - what is the source?

"Eastern Front veteran reports consist of snipers shooting at night with the aid of 'peculiar non-shining torches coupled with enormous optical sights' mounted on their rifles."

Any written statements? Where to find them?

"Similar infrared gear was fitted both to MG34 and MG42 machine guns."

Never heard of.

[edit] Source?

'peculiar non-shining torches coupled with enormous optical sights'. What?

If you're going to look in the book for something and take the time to quote, why not give the source?
