Zicisht is a small Christian village in the Devoll District in Albania.
It has a population of about 300. Many of its people emigrated to Greece or the United States because of the harsh living conditions.[citation needed] This village has been a cradle of culture, education and patriotism since the Ottoman usurpation.[citation needed]
Sotir Papa is a villager who worked for the First Albanian Republic together with Fan S. Noli, who served as the first President of Albania in 1924.
