Zhongyuan Mandarin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zhongyuan Mandarin (simplified Chinese: 中原官话; traditional Chinese: 中原官話; pinyin: zhōngyuán guānhuà, lit. Official Language of the Central Plain) is a dialect of Mandarin Chinese spoken in the central part of Shaanxi, Henan, and southern part of Shandong.
Zhongyuan Mandarin is considered the origin of Standard Mandarin, as the Han, China's dominant ethnic group, have lived in this area since the Zhou Dynasty.
