[edit] Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 22:06, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Beatrice Lillie
Hi! I thunk you misunderstood my edits. They were not vandalism. In the text of the article there is a reference to a relationship with actress Tallulah Bankhead, so I simply added the category "Bisexual actors" as a logical extension. Nonetheless I have not re-added it given your opposition, but have made other edits to improve the article overall. Please feel free to review and make any corrections you see fit. [edit] Alenka Zupančič
Hi. I am the one who changed the term "Slovenian school of psychanalysis" to "Ljubljana school of psychoanalysis" in Alenka Zupančič's article. It's no vandalism, "Ljubljana school" is actually the correct term, beacuse it's identified with scholars who either taught at the University of Ljubljana in the 1980's or collaborated to the Ljubljana-based psychoanalytic review "Problemi". I'm planning to write an article on the "Ljubljana school", so please leave it this way (although I know "Slovenian school" is also used among non-Slovenians). [edit] Judith Light article - not vandalism!
Hi. Sorry but I'm confused how you could say that my edits to the Judith Light article were vandalism. I appreciate your help and desire to make it a good article, but you can't just throw around the word "vandalism". Vandalism to the article would be if I said "Judith Light is a bitch" or something like that. Also, judging from past comments you seem to be accusing people of vandalism a lot. Editing an article is not necessarily vandalism per se:
I may have tweaked some wording here and there, but I mostly added info, except for the Ugly Betty paragraph which was far too long given that Claire Meade already has her own article.
I made the following changes, which I think are helpful.
- 1. I added what college she went to and her start in theatre.
- 2. The Claire Meade paragraph was FAR too long. I edited it down because there is already an entire article on Claire Meade. Why duplicate all of the info?????
- 3. I added the fact that she starred in the sitcom Phenom. How is adding info vandalism?
- 4. I added more information about her LGBT charity work. How is that vandalism?
- 5. I removed the "unconfirmed rumors" section about her hosting a reality show because an "unconfirmed rumor" is not factual and shouldn't be on there until proven true.
Thanks very much! If there is a specific change I made that you take issue with please let's discuss it. I'd appreciate it. --Mezaco 18:45, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- My apologies for the misunderstanding. I do not recall the reasons I had to reverting your changes at the time. My guess is I had thought the removal of the large amounts of information, which you say was redundant along the lines of section blanking. My apologies once again.--ZeWrestler Talk 18:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 1080 Manual
Hey. This is not a guarantee, but I have a copy of the game at my parents house. I'm going to visit them thanksgiving weekend. If I can locate the manual, what do you need from it?--ZeWrestler Talk 06:22, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
As much as you can give me of the book citation (publisher, title etc.). The sentence I particularly wanted to be citied was: "If the damage meter fills completely or if the player loses to a competitor, the player must retire and restart the race.". If you get a chance, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'll find a way to work in the article, as most of gameplay can be citied with it.--CM (talk) 23:34, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh a copyeditor changed up the article a bit, but I still have some ideas where I can put the manual reference. How did you even find out?--CM (talk) 23:49, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- You listed it as a regret of yours that you couldn't get your hands on the manual during the FAC nomination. --ZeWrestler Talk 23:53, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oh right. That was sort of a last minute idea in case someone had it. Guess it worked.--CM (talk) 23:56, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't get a chance to search for the manual. Remind me around Christmas when I go there next. --ZeWrestler Talk 02:26, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- I got my hands on the original manual. Strangely enough, I found the box and the manual, yet I couldn't find my original copy of the game. Oh well. What do you need me to get from the manual to put in the article. --ZeWrestler Talk 18:37, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Chocobo's Dungeon
I'm up for the merger thing, but just need to find out before we merge it - is the title Labyrinth of Forgotten Time already the official English title, and is there an official statement about it? Because if that's not an official title I'm afraid we'll have to go with the Japanese title for awhile and not merge just yet. — Blue。 07:29, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- The articles I have listed in the references in the article I created are the only statements I've seen thus far. I was acting on that. --ZeWrestler Talk 00:30, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- So an official English name for it still does not exist? I think we need to redirect it, just like we did on Chiisa na Ōsama to Yakusoku no Kuni Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. — Blue。 05:50, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Syracuse area historic places
Hi ZeWrestler -- Thanks so much for adding photos to the new articles on Crouse College, Syracuse University and Hall of Languages, Syracuse University, and for doing up the list of SU buildings beforehand and announcing that new article in the Syracuse Wikiproject. I was beginning to think that no one else would show any activity there! But i am hopeful that with recent activity now showing, others will find their way to the wikiproject again. Anyhow, i have taken photos of a bunch of Syracuse area historic sites and will be adding more articles regularly from now on. I didn't get pics of any SU area buildings though, so i am glad you have added those.
There's one more SU-associated building on the National Register, by the way: the Pi Chapter House of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity, at 101 College Place. I wonder, do you have or can you get a photo of that, too?
If you're interested in adding to the article text, too, there are on-line sources available to draw from. In particular, from an email that the NRHP sent me: "The New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has digitized their records and put them online. The SHPO is the state run agency that oversees historic preservation efforts in their state. They are also the agency that sends documentation on properties to [the NRHP] for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. You can use their database at: http://www.oprhp.state.ny.us/hpimaging/ To use: Click on "basic criteria " fill in the property name In the pop up window, choose the county click on the 'results' tab in the upper right Then click on either the text or photographs to view them. The website prefers the Internet Explorer browser over others."
cheers, doncram (talk) 17:43, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- Your welcome for the help with those articles. I do have to give credit where credit is due though. I created the initial article List of Syracuse University buildings because I was in the process of creating Template:Syracuse University and saw the need for the article. I hadn't put the list of building in the article at that point yet, when I was ready to add them, I discovered an annon user beat me to it. As for the pictures, I did not add them to wikipedia, they were already in the Syracuse University article. Since they were all public domain, I created a page on the wikicommons, Syracuse University, and started transferring all the pictures there that were public domain. When you created the articles on Crouse College, Syracuse University and Hall of Languages, Syracuse University, I saw the need for the images, so I went to the commons and retrieved them for the article. I am glad that these contributions were useful. I will continue to do what I can for the SU articles on wikipedia, including retrieving images. I will be returning to 'cuse in January, so I will attempt to take the pictures you requested then, and many more of places around the campus. This includes the Psi Upsilon fraternity. Its actually located right outside where I have classes. The buildings list is going to need a lot of work, to bring up to par with other building lists. (See the articles talk page for more information I wrote about it). I agree with you about the Syracuse Project. Hopefully, this latest set of contributions stirs some activity from users on their wikiproject. Anyway, thanks again for the message, if you have any other requests of me, feel free to ask. I also like contributing to wikipedia as much as I can. --ZeWrestler Talk 18:17, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re:manual
You found it? Wow, thanks; I didn't think there were any left on Earth. Essentially, I was looking into using it for two main parts in gameplay.
The player controls a snowboarder in one of six modes. 1080° has two trick modes (trick attack and contest), three race modes (race, time attack, and multiplayer), a training mode, and an options mode. The objective of the game is either to arrive quickly at a level's finish line or to receive maximum points for trick combinations.
and
match race mode, the player competes in a series of races against AI-controlled snowboarders. The game times the player throughout the level, and players receive a life meter which fills if the snowboarder falls down or is knocked over. The difficulty level in match races can be set to easy, medium, or hard, adjusting the complexity and number of races. If the player fails at defeating an AI competitor, they must retire. The player is given three chances to beat the computer before the game is over.
You probably could just <ref name="manual"> it and drop it a couple times in each paragraph. I would be more than happy to put on my own if you don't want to, I'd just need author, publisher, etc. to fill all the fields. I don't know what your preference is; its up to you.--CM (talk) 22:01, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've made the changes you wanted, I didn't mark it as <ref name="manual" /> like you instructed. I wasn't exactly sure how that works. I have put in all the information I could put into the template from the manual and I've marked page numbers in the manual where the sections in the game are discussed. If there is anything else I can do, let me know. --ZeWrestler Talk 17:14, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Crouse College
Nice catch about recently added material on Crouse College, Syracuse University. I wasn't watching the page, have now added it to my watch list. I agree that the long passage added was not strictly proper. Another editor jumped in and removed it, indicating probably copyright violation, which was fair and reasonable to do, in general. However, I just tried editing the page to include some of the material. See the article and my comment on its Talk page now. I am trying to be nice to someone who is probably a new user (not logged in, but I wonder if perhaps is the user, VPAcommunications, who created the now-linked article on the music school). There's a slogan in wikipedia, "Don't bite the newbies" or something like that. I tried to leave a friendly-enough note on VPAcommunications talk page, too. [edit] Syracuse University buildings / Comstock buildings
Hi ZeWrestler -- Thanks for keeping me informed, sorry not to have gotten back to you promptly. Thanks so much for adding pics on the Crouse College and Hall of Languages articles, and now also your development of the SU buildings. I was very pleased and flattered with your "ask and ye shall receive" quip a few days ago, it made me laugh out loud. :0) I can't actually look at the SU buildings article right now, i need to run, but I wanted to at least let you know that I will. In particular, I have a big text source explaining about the Comstock buildings, which seems to cover a huge amount of the main SU buildings, probably many that you are working on now. I mean to create/make a major addition to the NRHP Comstock buildings article. I may have been intending to do too much, I suppose I may now cut and do a shorter version and get it there for you to work with sooner, for you to decide what you want to merge or keep in the SU article itself, the SU buildings article, the Comstock NRHP article. Keep up the great work! cheers, doncram (talk) 16:17, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, i added some material to the Syracuse University-Comstock Tract Buildings and some of the same to List of Syracuse University Buildings. 15 of the SU buildings are Comstock Tract ones, i.e. on the old campus and included in the NRHP designation. An idea: you could divide your List of SU buildings into 2 tables, one on the Comstock Tract Buildings and one on the others. Not sure if that is best or not, just an idea. Oh, to read the Comstock Tract documents, follow the link to the New York State office page, let it load Javascript, bring up the article in a weird screen. Then, what I do to read it is that i hit the Print button it makes available, and I print a copy of the document to a PDF file, and I save and read that. Do you have a PDF writer? I use the free Pdf writer software from software995.com. Pls. let me know if I can further help you in getting access to the Comstock NRHP text and photos documents. Nice work on the List article, finding good examples and making a great start already. Cheers, doncram (talk) 10:12, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

- Hi, i noticed your addition of the Chancellor's Residence photo to the list of SU buildings, and that you are trying somewhat half-heartedly to make a fair use argument for your having uploaded an apparently non-free image. I can't really say about whether the fair use argument is valid or not, and I certainly am not going to put it up for deletion, but my guess is that someone else will get around to that. My question to you is why bother? Why invest any time with questionable stuff. Why not take a new pic? I think it just gets you into trouble with SU, also, if sometime later you want to ask them for access to private areas to take pictures, or if you want to ask them for their agreement for you to post pictures of artworks and plaques that are copyrighted. (See recent discussion and draft letter / permission form about copyrighted artworks, in Talk page of WP:NRHP.) But, I do admire that you keep plugging along with the list of SU buildings, it is coming along. :) Cheers, doncram (talk) 04:59, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Season on the mat bookcover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 11:39, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Mmx1robots.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Mmx1robots.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 02:48, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Missing image Image:Desmodus.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Desmodus.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Desmodus.jpg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Desmodus.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 05:30, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Rock cycle
Hi ZeWrestler,
OK I've had a look at the pic - I think the easiest way (and the way which will have the best outcome IMO) is if you could email me the original PSD file with layers. Because one of the problems you've got is the aliasing/artefacting on the pink arrows being exacerbated by the stroke - if I had the original I could fix the pink arrows and the stroke would fix itself. Click on the email this user link on my userpage. --Fir0002 22:56, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Scryed_vol6_dvd_cover.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Scryed_vol6_dvd_cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. [edit] Estabrook House pic etc
Hi-- Thanks for taking and uploading the Estabrook House pic to its article and to the List of Registered Historic Places in Onondaga County, New York article. It's a nice addition. I should get around to uploading more of the pics I took of other Ward Wellington Ward houses in that list, too. I have been contributing more effort on List of National Historic Landmarks in New York and Historic preservation in New York articles. It's good that you bring me back, though! Cheers, doncram (talk) 04:28, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, got ur question about submitting for Featured Picture. Actually i don't know anything about Featured Pictures. I am aware there is a picture of the year at WikiMedia Commons, which is a pretty spectacular picture. So I can't advise on the process at all or on your chances really, but I could imagine others not being very appreciative of the photo because it is "just" a picture of a house. It serves admirably as illustrating the Estabrook House article, but that article is not well developed and probably few of those involved in any wikipedia Featured Picture selection process will be very big fans, I suspect. But you would learn about the Featured Pic process for sure, if you submitted it. I myself have never submitted an article for Featured Article, but I have learned a lot about the FA process, first, and am now about ready to submit the List of National Historic Landmarks in New York article for Featured List. I suggest browsing any Featured Pic criteria articles you can find, before submitting, if u want to reduce ur chances of disappointment. But, no harm done either way. Maybe, just be bold! cheers, doncram (talk) 02:46, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

- Uggh, the Hoople pic is like a police lineup mug shot! :(. I like the Whitman school pic, though. :) I know too well that sunny days in Syracuse are rare, and then further it is an issue to catch a building at the right time during a sunny day. Maybe it is honest to show dark pics of ugly buildings, how they usually look in Syracuse. :( Oh well. :) doncram (talk) 02:18, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:USSCOTWnom
A tag has been placed on Template:USSCOTWnom requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 20:52, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Zeldadx_1.jpg
I have tagged Image:Zeldadx_1.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. [edit] Image:Plainsboronjlogo.gif
I have tagged Image:Plainsboronjlogo.gif as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 20:31, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hi again. Flint vs. Sims.
Hi there, nice to see u active again. I click on Image:Flint Hall, Syracuse University.JPG, but note the description says it is a picture of Sims Hall. I see you use it to illustrate Flint Hall in the list of building article, but the description says it is Sims. Hope u are doing well and your semester is going okay. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Insaniquarium titleScreen.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Insaniquarium titleScreen.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:26, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Captaintitle.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Captaintitle.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

[edit] Syracuse wikipedia heating up...
Hey, did you notice the Syracuse wikipedia project grew 50% in one day recently, when Lvklock joined? That makes 3 active members now.... :) Seriously, Lvklock has done a bunch of historic site pics and articles in List of Registered Historic Places in Onondaga County, New York and in nearby counties. Perhaps we could have a Syracuse wikiproject meetup some day, i will certainly try to organize that if/when i will be in town.
Also, i think i have been delinquent in getting back to you about Crouse College, Syracuse University, about which you mentioned on March 30 that you had a bunch of pics to review. Like someone else said, u could just upload all the better ones, and put them into a commons gallery, and put a link to the commons gallery from the article. But from the talk that i was just archiving, and my digging out your email message to me as well, it seemed i was to receive them by email and comment, which i would be happy to do. Sorry again for delay. Hope you are well. Cheers, doncram (talk) 16:07, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
