ZetaTalk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ZetaTalk is a website started in 1995 by self-proclaimed contactee Nancy Lieder, who claims to channel messages from extra-terrestrials called Zetas (from the Zeta Reticuli star system; see Betty and Barney Hill) through an implant in her brain. Lieder states that she was chosen to warn mankind about Planet X, which would sweep through the solar system in May 2003, causing a pole shift that would destroy most of humanity. The pole shift would apparently be caused by magnetic attraction between the earth's core and the magnetism of the passing planet. This magnetic disruption of the Earth's core and subsequent displacement of the crust of the Earth is said to correspond with the event Christians refer to as the biblical Armageddon.

This doomsday theory fuses elements from the various "Planet X" hypotheses that have emerged within the last century with the "Earth Chronicles" mythology of Zecharia Sitchin's The 12th Planet, in which, according to Sitchin's reading of Sumerian religious texts, a giant planet (Nibiru or Marduk) with a 3600-year orbit occasionally passes by Earth and allows its sentient inhabitants to interact with humanity. Sitchin disagrees with Lieder's claim of impending global catastrophe; in 2007, partly in response to Lieder's claims, he published a book, The End of Days, which set the time for the last passing of Nibiru by Earth at roughly 600 BC, which would mean it would be unlikely to return in less than 1000 years.[1]

Lieder's Planet X spread beyond her website when Mark Hazlewood, a former member of the ZetaTalk community, took her claims and published them in a book: Blindsided: Planet X Passes in 2003. Lieder would later accuse him of being a confidence trickster [2].

Lieder predicted that before the pole shift in May 2003 the Iraq War would end with troops being sent home to join loved ones before the shift occurred. When the May 15 date arrived, there was no pole shift, and the war was still on-going.

ZetaTalk continues to exist, claiming that the May 2003 date was merely a "white lie" to confuse the elites. Lieder still insists that Planet X is coming, but refuses to give a date until a disclosure has been given to the public by the government. Lieder claims that disclosing a date would enable those in power to plan martial law and attempt to trap people in cities during the shift which would cause their deaths.

Lieder has predicted catastrophic earth changes which will increase exponentially until the passage of Planet X, and has urged people to "be prepared". Hazlewood also still maintains that Planet X is due, and published a new book, Delicate Earth, in 2006. [3]

Many internet sites still claim that "Planet X" is on its way to destroy Earth. The date most often cited is 2012, which is the end of the current cycle (baktun) in the long count in the Mayan calendar. In 2003, Turkish writer Burak Eldem published the book 2012: Appointment With Marduk, which purported to forecast the return of Planet X in that year. Marshall Masters, publisher of the website yowusa.com, has published many works prophesying the end of the world in 2012 following an encounter with Planet X, including a novel (Godschild Covenant) and a "Planet X Forecast and 2012 Survival Guide".[4] The website "Project Camelot" claims to possess an anonymous letter from a Norwegian politician that states "Planet X is coming" and describes a secret plan to construct a series of globe-spanning 2012 survival bases.[5]
