Zervynos is an ethnographic village in the Varėna district, on the territory of the Dzūkija National Park near the Ūla river. This village has 48 houses, of which 8 are officially declared ethnographical. Through this village goes the Vilnius-Hrodno railway. The village is surrounded by woods from all sides.

First mentioned in written sources in 1742. In XVIII the right side of the Ūla river was in the Varėna eldership while the left side was in the Kaniava eldership.

In the beginning of XIX century some 24 Stone and Iron Age campsites were found. Inhabitants were mostly fishers, hunters, gatherers of many of the wood's goods. They were also famous beekeepers.

The Village is centered around one street. Most of the building are built from logs framed together.

In the middle of village there is a group of 3 crosses built in different years. The Tall cross is built on the bank of the Ūla river, and another at crossroads near the cemetery.

During the All Souls' Day fires are lit in the Zervynos cemetery. This tradition can only be seen in Zervynos and another nearby village of Margionis

There is an ethnographic ensemble in the village. A movie "Faktas (1981) about Pirčiupiai massacre was filmed in Zervynos. Algis Svirnelis, a folk-artist, who rebuilt the Zervynos village crosses lives there, as well as 2005 National Culture and Art laureate Juozas Aputis. On the left bank of Ūla stands a monument for guerilla leader A.Ramanauskas-Vanagis.
