Zervi

Zervi (Greek: Ζέρβη; South Slavic: Žervi or Zhervi, Жерви) is a small village in the northwest of the Pella Prefecture of Macedonia, Greece. Population: 720 (2001). The history of the village is lost within the centuries. Rumors say that it was built by Byzantine troops in order to defend Vegoritida lake from attacking invaders which were coming from the north. The village produces huge amounts of cherries, apples and peaches every summer and it is listed as one of the best fruit producers in Greece. Also every 25 and 26 of July there is a great evenings with local music and dance. At 24 Dec, a big fire in the village try to warm up the Jesus. Music and free drinks (wine and local tsipuro) and free food for every one. The same happenigs we can see at 31 Dec and at 6 Jan.
