Zertifikat Deutsch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The internationally recognized exam Zertifikat Deutsch is the result of a joint collaboration between Goethe-Institut, Österreichischem Sprachdiplom (ÖSD), Schweizer Erziehungsdirektorenkonferenz (EDK) and WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme gGmbH. The Zertifikat Deutsch orients itself primarily with the needs of learners of German in adult education programs, whether inside or outside a German speaking country. Newer developments make the same testing format also available to adolescent learners. According to the guidelines, candidates need between 350 and 600 hours of instruction in order to obtain the necessary fluency for a successful test in Zertifikat Deutsch. The Zertifikat Deutsch is mapped as equivalent to the Level B1 under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR), the internationally recognized scale of the Council of Europe. The levels of the CEFR are as follows: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
