Zereshk: I have to dispute something you are claiming as your work. Under the Jonesboro, Ar entry, I took the photograph of the Dean B Ellis Library when I worked there in the late nineties. I would appreciate you accepting responsibility for the mistake and giving me credit. Call me Commojo.

See my answer on the image's page itself.--Zereshk (talk) 06:39, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kahtmayan again

I dont know if there is any way to save this article. Joojoo

[edit] Not that i know of

I'd say just start out by selecting the best ones or the ones that you can't find similar ones of on commons. It could take time, but its worth it. It means that the stuff is then available for other projects to use. Especially it is good because smaller Wikipedias may not have such a good understanding of copyright as commons/en-wiki so if they can use images from commons they know they are ok and don't have to think about Copyright. - Francis Tyers · 00:19, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree. I've IfD'd it. - Francis Tyers · 07:11, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Modern Iranian academics

You started this list a while back. It has since grown into a list of nearly every Iranian professor at every big University around the world. I was thinking you and I could help prune it down to a reasonable size allowing for only the most notable to remain, and moving other potentially notable ones to the talk page. [edit] Encyclopeadia Iranica

Hi Zereshk, I have no problem with EI being used as a reference, and if it's a good external link that's fine too. That's why I moved the links to the talk pages instead of simply deleting them. But it's clear that Columbia University IP addresses have been systematically working their way through Wikipedia adding E.I. references to articles regardless of whether it was used as a reference or if it has information over and above the article's content. (See, for instance, Special:Contributions/160.39.32.153 and Special:Contributions/160.39.32.132). This looks like clear and simply promotion of E.I. by the institution and I don't think such links should be left on articles. -- SiobhanHansa 17:17, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Iranianism versus Pan Iranianism

As you know the article thatyou cretead is up for deletion, but I think a better name for it would be Pan Iranianism ? Just a suggestion Taprobanus 14:31, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

No, Pan-Iranianism has the exact opposite meaning.--Zereshk 21:04, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ahmad Ibn Imad ul-din

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Ahmad Ibn Imad ul-din, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Spazure 09:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

I removed the speedy in good faith (please accept my apologies, i was a bit overzealous that day), and added a source to help. It's still poorly sourced though, so any help with sourcing would be appreciated. Spazure 09:01, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Iranianism

Iranianism, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Iranianism satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iranianism and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Iranianism during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. -- Jreferee (Talk) 03:36, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: Anti-Iranian sentiment

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Anti-Iranian sentiment meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anti-Iranian sentiment (3rd nomination). Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 03:38, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I have tagged Image:Sham_e_akhar.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. Please keep an eye on History of political Islam in Iran. User:Mike222324 constantly vandalizes the page by removing the information on Abdollah Shahbazi. [edit] Marlik Vase

Salam Zereshk,

Omid varam khub hasti. Maybe I don't remember well, but I think you uploaded an image from Marlik vase a long time ago. The image was deleted on commonsfor lack of source. If there's a possibility for you to give the source and clear problems related to copyright, could you ask for a restoration on commons ? The image was deleted in March : [5]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Ahwaz territory. There are question about the truthfulness of the article and whether such a territory exists. Since you contributed to the Ahvaz article, I am hoping that you would consider participating in the Ahwaz territory deletion review to shed some light on whether the Ahwaz territory in fact exists. Salam, My dear friend

Please help me with List of Twelver's Imams. I want to nominate it as a Featured lists on the basis of the WP:WIAFL. Please write your review o the talk page. I would be grateful if you cleaned up the list.--Seyyed(t-c) 17:13, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Women leaders section under attack

Greetings, Happy New Year!

I hope that you support the listing of woman leaders and the photos on the woman article page.

An editor has opted to take them down. Hope you support the preservation of the list and photos.

Also, I found your user page to be beautiful. As someone in the Northeast, I can recommend to you the Asia Society, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Sackler Museum adjacent to the Harvard campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I see you're based in Texas. If you know of anything of Asian art interest in the Georgia/South Carolina/ Alabama area I'd be interest as well.

[edit] Iran-Iraq War

Please check out the edit history of Iran-Iraq War. The anti-Iranian bias is incredible. Khorshid (talk) 14:44, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

That article needs a revamp and additional sourcing. I'll get to it probably this weekend.--Zereshk (talk) 16:30, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Apologies if I am intruding on private exchange, but the problem, to me, appears to be with the infobox. The conflict involves enough countries, in different roles, that it just doesn't reduce to a pair of belligerents, which the infobox forces. My recommendation is not to have an infobox here, and come to agreement that the main article will have sections representing different views. I'd rather see clear statements of different views, which are unlikely to be reconciled, than continuing battle trying to get any particular POV accepted. Personal attacks, speculation about motivations, and claims of sockpuppetry do not help the situation. Howard C. Berkowitz (talk) 17:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Have a look

Hi! I thought you might like to have a look at 26th Fajr International Film Festival, which I just created. I tried my best to write the names correctly (checked with IMDb as far as I could, etc). However, one of the more active editors here (you or someone you know) may help with correcting typos I missed. hujiTALK 19:55, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wheel

Your picture Wheel Iran.jpg at Commons is used on the Swedish WP to illustrate an article about ancient inventions. I would like to attach a little more details about it, but you don't tell anything more than that it is at the museum in Teheran. The English pages at the museum's website don't function, at least not in Firefox. Apparently the wheel is somewhere in the entrance at the museum, but where is it excavated? from which period? do they know anything about it's history? Would like to know. rgds. -Islander(Scandinavia) (talk) 23:40, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Campaign to erase leaders on woman page

Hi. I'm writing to you since you had some interest a few months back on the women leaders. There has been a campaign to deem them superfluous and to blank them off the screen. Then, the parties involved declared a "consensus." (I restored the deleted material.) Thought you'd be interested, Cheers, Dogru144 (talk) 23:41, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

I just saw Iranian architecture and when I checked the history, I found you. I think you know me from Persian Wikipedia, My user name is "Wayiran". Anyway, when I saw your contributions, I felt shy(!) that how some people like you, are introducing Iran and our history to the world, and I haven't done anything. Wish you all the best. Iranway (talk) 17:07, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Indeed I spent many many months writing all the Iranian architecture articles. pedaram dar oomad. But now I feel happy and proud about all that work. It was well worth it.--Zereshk (talk) 06:27, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Now only again I saw your name in Ibn al-Haytham's discussion page! I didn't read the whole thing but really az shoma mamnoonam. Sepas. You and your personality reminded me a poem by Hafez:
هرگز نمیرد آن که دلش زنده شد به عشق / ثبت است بر جریدهٔ عالم دوام ما
love towards Iran is also of the same type. I will continue your way in that discussion. Iranway (talk) 16:08, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Amir arsalan anime.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Amir arsalan anime.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The following images also have this problem:
