Zelzal-2 (Persian: زلزال-۲, from Arabic, meaning "Earthquake") is an unguided Iranian 610 mm heavy artillery rocket that can carry a 600 kg (1,323 lb) warhead an estimated 210 km (130 mi). The missile is thought to be based on the Soviet FROG-7 missile, [1] with development begun in 1990. [2]

As of August 2006, it has been reported that Iran had supplied Hezbollah with Zelzal-2 missiles[3]. Similar claims had already been made in 2002[4] but no proof turned up in subsequent years. It appears[5] as if - if there are indeed such missiles stationed in Lebanon - they are controlled by Iranian liaison officers.
