[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Dear Zeldabalooney2006: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD! *Mystic* (talk) 08:03, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Daffyinn.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Daffyinn.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:05, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Milky Waif

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for writing this article. Unfortunately it doesn't conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles. However, please do not be disheartened by what may happen to your first article, if indeed it is deleted. Please continue to edit Wikipedia and add articles which conform with the inclusion criteria. For help, see Help:Contents. To find out what will probably be deleted, see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Thanks, and if you have any questions, please ask them on my user talk page. To do this, click on my name (just after this sentence) and click discussion at the top and then the (+) button at the top. ffm yes? 23:55, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't wanna create template "Deletionclaim" that says: "This page has been deleted due to copyright claim: ?". Any of you will think it's bogus. Zeldabalooney2006

Can I create two templates that are serious: Orphanedpage and Deletionclaim? Zeldabalooney2006

[edit] About your tags

{{orphan}} already exists. Please don't create tags suggesting all orphan pages are delete- this is not a reason for deletion. Have a read through Wikipedia:Deletion Policy. Thanks. --Wafulz 22:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. I've just created Deletionclaim, a template that will be marked on pages that will drive companies insane. Zeldabalooney2006

Template:Spoiler

[edit] Spoiler messages

I don't know how to be an Administrator and I wanted to create good MediaWiki message: "Innapropriatetext". Trust me, "MediaWiki:Innapropriatetext" will not be a fake article, just.... Oh, I wish there was a "flag as innapropriate" square that you can choose an answer. Can someone tell me? Template:Endspoiler

Sorry, I don't understand you question. Could you explain further? Also see my message below about the MediaWiki namespace. mattbr30 12:07, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Super Demo World - The Legend Continues

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Super Demo World - The Legend Continues, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Icestryke 02:39, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Go ahead. Zeldabalooney2006

[edit] Deleting your own stuff

If you want your own things to be deleted, you can just add the {{db-author}} template to the article. --Wafulz 02:43, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re your comment at MediaWiki talk:MediaWiki

Why are empty MediaWiki messages fully protected? Zeldabalooney2006

All pages in the MediaWiki namespace are fully protected by default because they are system messages and are part of the interface. Empty pages in this namespace do not serve any purpose and so there is no need to edit them. There is more at Wikipedia:MediaWiki namespace and Help:MediaWiki namespace. Thanks, mattbr30 11:51, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
PS. The contents of the MediaWiki namespace are not part of the encyclopedia and are directly tied into the software used by the site. Also, please sign your comments with ~~~~ as this will automatically produce your username and the date and time you posted your message. This makes it easier to keep track of who posted what when. Thanks. For me, this produces: mattbr30 12:07, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
What if I lost being an administrator? Zeldabalooney2006
I'm sorry, according to the user list you aren't an administrator, so I don't understand your question. Please could you explain further. PS. Please type ~~~~ after your comments or press the Image:Wikisigbutton.png button at the top of the edit window to sign your posts. Thanks, mattbr30 15:33, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Here you go! Zeldabalooney2006

I see from your contributions you have created Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Zeldabalooney2006. You have only completed step one of the nomination instructions, so your request is not currently being discussed by the community, and you will have to complete the remaining steps before your nomination is considered. Due to your relatively short time here, unfortunately you may not have the necessary experience that the community deems necessary for you to to become an administrator, and I think it is unlikely that your request will succeed at the current time. For examples of what the community is looking for in an administrator, you may want to look at the current requests for adminship, some successful requests and some unsuccessful ones. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, mattbr30 19:09, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Springtime for Thomas

Your articles are quite interesting, but when you write them, could you ensure that they actually make sense and are written in good English? Otherwise it's probably not worth writing them as it takes more effort for other people to re-write them than it did to write the synopsis in the first place.

[edit] ABC Weekend TV comment

Hi Zelda!

You posted a comment about a colour ABC ident that has had people scratching their heads because the article in question doesn't include a picture as described. Did you mean to contact Transdiffusion about this image? On your behalf, I emailed the people there and was told that the image is a scan of a matchbook given out at their sales office and the colour logo also appeared on their outside broadcast vans, on a sponsored Blackpool tram and on their headed paper in the last few years of their contract. With different colouring, it appeared on-screen in 1967's Quatermass and the Pit (film), which was set "in the near future" - which would have been when ABC had the weekend London contract... except they actually ended up as 51% of Thames.

Hope this helps answer your strange query - you might like to give a little bit more context next time and also remember that article talk pages are for talking about the article, not the subject of the article. Happy editing!   REDVERSSЯEVDEЯ  20:01, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

No, I'm still lost. Context here would be useful. Have you got a wikilink, external link or simply more information? I really don't have a clue what you mean.   REDVERSSЯEVDEЯ  22:05, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Do I have to work here and not do anything else if I become an administrator?

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:2080748 001 0001.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:2080748 001 0001.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:58, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:StrandHomeVideologo.jpg

Hello Zeldabalooney2006, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:StrandHomeVideologo.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Zeldabalooney2006. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 20:54, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] On Site with Thomas

Thanks for reverting some of that vandalism. Just to inform you (don't know if you saw or not) that I've a notice on the talk page discussing the issue and handling it because of what is going on there. For further information on this, see the statement here. Another questions, feel free to say something on my talk page. Thanks again! C. Foultz 23:50, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. [edit] My concern about issues of conduct

Hello, Zeldabalooney2006, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but after reading some of your text, I am concerned that Wikipedia's policies and guidelines might not have been properly presented to you, and that you may encounter criticism for appearing not to follow them. After you look over the documents linked above, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance whether you were aware of these documents, what is your philosophy about interacting with other editors, and what alternative approaches you might willingly adopt that would avoid raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

  • If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
  • If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as asking for a "third opinion", or requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Admins usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
  • If you prefer not to deal with me at all, you can ask others for guidance: there are experienced Wikipedians who offer mentorship, "adoption", or advocacy; and many admins will also make the time to answer earnest questions on their talk pages (though some are either very busy or away on "Wikibreak").
  • Any time you feel overwhelmed by the complexity of it all, you can simply post {{helpme}} here on your talk page, with a description of your questions or problems, and someone will show up to help you find answers or solutions.

Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your conduct is so bad as to get reported straight to administrator noticeboards or get you summarily blocked. I hope matters will never become that severe. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you again! -- Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 01:44, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TheVideoCollectionlogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:TheVideoCollectionlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:09, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Walt Disney Classics Collection

An editor has nominated Walt Disney Classics Collection, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Walt Disney Classics Collection and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 00:59, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
