[edit] I need a little help
Okay. I've begun to rewrite the Zelda Classic Wikipedia page. However, the tricky part is implementing the citations.
I have a section titled "Reception" that has two sub-headers, "Praise" and "Criticism". (After all, the article cannot be all suns and roses.) One criticism of ZC is its bugginess, and much of this talk is in the Armageddon Games Forums. Will it be acceptable to use a thread on these forums as a source? Pineconn 18:42, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Message boards are very, very rarely (if ever) accepted as reliable sources. WP:RS has the guidelines that most people will use to evaluate any sources. Ideally you want things like proper (not user-submitted) reviews, or other articles about the game, from reputable gaming sites. Articles that just state stuff along the lines of 'The new version is out and has the following changes' or just describe what the game is are not accepted for notability purposes. Hope this clears things up for you. DarkSaber2k 13:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for that. That does help a lot. Pineconn 19:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- If this article refers to the NES Legend of Zelda game from 1986, there is no reason why this was deleted. Maybe today it's an obscure game, but it turned the video game industry on it's ear when it came out. It's worth playing again and again and there is even software that allows you to edit the levels of the game and create your own. --VoltronForce 06:04, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- If Zelda Classic has been taken off the "Zelda" page and I can't give it a starter page by its lonesome (reverted and declared "vandalism" no less) then what can I do? Nonluddite 00:27, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Nothing - it was removed for a reason.
What was the reason? As I see it, Nintendo knows about it and more or less permits it, so it's not promoting piracy. Super Saiyan Musashi (talk) 01:16, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
The reason, I believe, was a lack of valid/third-party citations, including one where the developers of the program said they were on "good terms" with Nintendo. It was also a mere advertisement for the program. Drepple (talk) 14:51, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
However, someone named Evouga has already begun work on a repair here. Drepple 14:19, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
