Zefyri or Zefiri, (Greek, Modern: Ζεφύρι, Ancient/Katharevousa: -on), older forms Zefyrion, Zefirio or Zefirion, is a suburb in the northern part of Athens, Greece. It is located in the easternmost part of the West Attica Prefecture, bordering the municipalities of Kamatero, Ano Liosia, and Acharnes. It is by far the smallest (1.400 km²) and most densely populated (6,328.6 inhabitants/km²) municipality in West Attica. The origin of the name comes from a nearby spring which it had in older times. Zefyri is slightly north of the Attiki Odos (number 6) at the Dimokratias Avenue interchange and GR-1/E75 lies to its east. Zefyri Tunnel which is cut and cover is 440 m in length and is in the southern part. It is located SE of Thiva, SSE of Chalkida, NE of Athinon Avenue, about 11 km N of Athens, NW of Poseidonos Avenue and NE of Piraeus. The railway line of OSE runs in the southwestern part.
The area was made up of farmlands. Farmlands used to dominate the rest of the land but the remaining forests are in the squares. In the middle of the 20th century, urban development and industrial buildings replaced much of the farmlands. Today, about most of the land are residential areas. The remaining farmlands today are around Zefyri range where is made up of rocks and bushes.
The area is mainly made up of urban areas while farmlands are around Zefyri to its east. The Cephissus river lies to the east. The mountains mainly with bushes are to the north and the west along with the Parnitha ranges to the north. Further higher are pine trees. Zefyri has schools, a few lyceums, gymnasia, banks, a train station, a sports centre, cinemas, post offices and squares (plateies).
