[edit] Licensing
This image is the cover of a videotape, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, etc. and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the video or the studio which produced the video in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of video covers
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
[edit] Fair use for Zeder
This image, zeder.jpg, is being linked here; although the picture is subject to copyright I (Hal Raglan) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws for use in the article Zeder because:
- According to the Wikipedia:Fair use tag for DVD covers, "it is believed that the use of low-resolution images of DVD covers, to illustrate the movie in question, qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law." The image has been added to the article to assist in critical commentary/discussion of the film in question.
- It is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality).
- It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to market or sell the work in any way.
- This image is already used on websites, so its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is.
- No free or public domain images have been located for this item.-Hal Raglan (talk) 02:38, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
