Zeba Bakhtiar

Zeba is a Pakistani film & TV actress-director; She is the daughter of Yahya Bakhtiar, a prominent beaurocrat from Quetta and former Attorney of Pakistan; she made her first television debut with a Karachi television (PTV) play, Anarkali, a sad love story.

Her performance in the TV play Anarkali won her critical acclaim in Pakistan's growing entertainment world. The role of Anarkali helped her wide screen debut with the hit movie Henna (1991) produced by the prestigious Raj Kapoor banner in India. The movie was directed by Randhir Kapoor. Her performance in Henna was just refreshing and amazing. Her performance in Sargam{1995} won her the prestigious Nigar Award in Pakistan.

Zeba Bakthiar also gave an excellent performance in movies like, Mohabbat Ki Arzoo(1994),Stuntman {1994}, Jai Vikraanta( {1995},Muqadama(1996)Chief Sahib(1996)and Qaid{1996} and Babu{2001. Besides acting, Zeba Bakthiar also proved herself as an accomplished director in her directorial-debut movie, Babu in 2001. Apart from movies, Zeba Bakthiar kept taking starring roles in major television serials, where she brought new levels of intensity in her performances. For instance, in "Laag" she gave a memorable performance as leader of Kashmiri independence movement, her portrayal of a handicapped girl in "Pehli see mohabbat" was just mind-boggling; Likewise her performances in "Kundi" & "Sangam".
