[edit] Ismail Ayob
Hi, I'd appreciate it if you constructively edited the Ismail Ayob article, instead of repeatedly making wholesale deletions about Mandela's lawsuit against Ayob. The fact that Ayob was involved in a lawsuit with Mandela is very significant, and well documented and freely available online in multiple newspapers. It also forms a significant part of Mandela's own post-retirement history. If you put Ayob's perspective forward (with appropriate citations from reputable sources) it would help to add balance to the article. Removing the section about the legal battle between Ayob and Mandela is not, on the other hand, helpful.Park3r 17:19, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone can edit Wikipedia, I'd suggest that you constructively work with the material in the article, instead of wholesale deletions. You will find that Wikipedia editors, including me, would gladly help to clean up the section and help to make it more balanced. Destructive edits will do you very little good, and policing the article to remove references to the lawsuit will, in the long term, prove futile. Although I didn't add the section on the lawsuit initially, it is significant, especially since it impacts on Mandela's post-retirement image, and attempts to commercialise it. I would suggest that you expand the section on the lawsuit rather than delete it.Park3r 08:35, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

- Don't forget that you too are anonymous (Based on your edit history and username, I suspect that you are personally connected to the subject of the article, but I won't accuse you of that).
-
- Allegations against me of "cowardice and megolamaniac personality, bordering on insanity." do not serve you well, and could get you banned from editing on Wikipedia. I won't take action against you, but you should be warned that other editors do not take kindly to abuse.
-
- I didn't add the section about Mandela's legal action against Ayob, it was there already, I merely restored it.
-
- I would welcome you editing the section, and rewriting it in a way that reflects Ayob's position as well. What I will not allow is for attempts to expunge a significant, well cited and newsworthy section of an article because it may offend you.
-
- That said, I would seriously like you to attempt a constructive edit of the section, that gives Ayob's side as well. My gut instinct is that Ayob is being villified by the media, and that Mandela is not blameless in this affair as one might think. The naming of a Shopping Centre (Sandton Square) after the man does tell me that he has, to an extent willingly participated in the commercialisation of his image, and that the other side of the story needs to be told.Park3r 20:55, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- It should be further noted that sources (widely read and respected news outlets) are required for Wikipedia, which is why they are included in the article.Park3r 21:21, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- Newspapers are regarded as reliable sources. Park3r 21:55, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 3RR notice
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. — Nearly Headless Nick 14:25, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Signing your contributions to discussions
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Park3r 11:19, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
