Zavolzhsk (Russian: Заво́лжск) is a town in Ivanovo Oblast, Russia. It is one of the towns of the Golden Ring and is situated on the left bank of the Volga River (i.e., in Transvolga), opposite Kineshma. The town is located about 200 km downstream of Kostroma, 113 km north-east of Ivanovo. Population: 13,455 (2002 Census);[1] 16,530 (1989 Census).[2] It is the administrative center of Zavolzhsky District.

It was established in 1934 as an urban-type settlement of Zavolzhye, conglomerated from several industrial settlements. It received the town status and renamed to the present name on October 4, 1954.
