Zarko Kujundziski (Macedonian: Жарко Кујунџиски) (born May 19, 1980 in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia) is a young Macedonian novelist and playwright. His short stories and essays have been translated in several languages and have won many awards.
At the age of 23 he debuted as a novelist with “Spectator” (2003). “Spectator” is the first debut novel in the history of Macedonian literature which has been published in four different editions. His next book was “Andrew, love and other disasters” (three plays) published in 2004 by Antolog. His second novel “America” was published in 2006 and has met an excellent response from the critics and the reading audience.
At the moment he is working on his master’s degree thesis at the faculty of philology “Blaze Koneski” in Skopje, concerning the theory of short fiction.
