I should probably put something here...
Well, I'm eighteen years old and a senior at Wayzata High School (in Plymouth, Minnesota).
So far, all of my edits are grammatical/syntactical corrections to pages I read while doing my homework or something like that. That trend probably won't change in the near future.
[edit] Disparate thoughts on myself
Although I am rather pedantic when it comes to spelling and grammar, I believe in singular they, I don't mind sentences ending in prepositions, and I don't particularly care which declension of pronoun is used in a subject complement ("That's me!" vs "That's I!"). In addition, I dislike French spacing and find any lack of a serial comma disturbing.
I'm glad that Pluto is no longer considered a planet; in fact, I'd been telling everyone that Pluto is not a planet since at least third grade (1998).
I'm fairly good at math. I qualified for the USAMO my sophomore year of high school, although I attribute that more to luck than anything else.
I can play chess; I'm good enough to beat most casual players but not good enough to beat anyone who plays it more often than a few times a year. I can also play Go; again, enough to beat most casual players but not enough to beat most who play it more often than a few times a year.
The three computer games I currently play on and off were all made 1997 or earlier - NetHack, Warzone 2100, and SubSpace.
Of scripting, programming, and markup languages, I've used C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, ASP, PHP, XHTML/HTML, JavaScript, CSS, BASIC, TI-BASIC (all 68k, 85-series z80, and 82-series z80).
I prefer C, since it's low-level enough to be used everywhere, but not low-level enough that I'm too lazy to bother learning (cough, assembly, cough). Despite this, I program mainly in PHP and JavaScript. I
I'm atheist. I don't see any particular reason why God is different from, say, Santa Claus, or Zeus. I think that religion was created to explain what science cannot.
I believe in Russell's teapot. It can coexist with the Invisible Pink Unicorn and the Flying Spaghetti Monster, of course.
I like to describe myself as politically moderate, although most people would probably describe me as liberal. I do not understand why anyone would have anything against gay marriage.
I am indifferent about sports, except boxing, wrestling, and American football, which I dislike.
I am usually described as a nerd.
Yes, I'm using Windows Vista Business. Yes, I know, Windows is evil, but Linux has nowhere near the level of support Windows Vista/XP does for writing Chinese. If you think it does, leave a comment on my talk page pointing me to aforementioned support for Chinese character input and I'll gladly switch. KIO sounds quite useful. (It's also near impossible to get dual monitors to work properly on my system.)
I think that IE6 is of abysmal quality, IE7 addresses a few of my problems with IE6 but not enough to make me use it, Firefox is quite a nice browser, and Opera is a great browser that needs better JavaScript support and more extensibility.
I wish IE would hurry up and support the <canvas> tag. I can't make 3D JavaScript games without it! (Although some might not consider that a bad thing.)
