[edit] History

Ron Alsheimer, owner of the Video Factory rental chain in Buffalo, New York, established three Zappers! stores in 1995. One of the locations was the largest video game store in North America at that time. Both Video Factory and Zappers! were bought out by Blockbuster Video in 1996. Alsheimer now owns Plaza Group based in Buffalo, NY, a real estate company with 60+ properties including Plaza Suites Executive Centers.

The company's motto was "The World of Electronic Games".

As of 2007, The store's Meadow Drive North Tonawanda location is still vacant, 11 years after being sold to Blockbuster.
