Status | Proposed |
Line | Yellow Line Extension |
Zapote LRT Station is a proposed station on the Manila LRT Yellow Line (LRT-1). It is part of the Yellow Line Extension, also called LRT-6. The LRT-1 extension plan calls for an elevated 10-station, 11.7-kilometer extension, which means that this station would be above ground. The station would be the first LRT station outside Metro Manila, being located in Bacoor in Cavite.
The station would be the third station for trains headed from Niog and the eighth for trains headed from Redemptorist. It would be the twenty-sixth for trains headed from Monumento.
The station would be located near the area of what is known as the site of the Battle of Zapote Bridge, which was fought during the Philippine-American War. The area informally known as Zapote is split between Bacoor (which in turn is split into five separate barangays) and Las Piñas City.
