Zander Schloss
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zander Schloss (born August 7, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri [1]) is a Los Angeles, California based musician and actor best known as bass player for The Circle Jerks and The Weirdos and also a composer and actor for a number of independent films. His first screen appearance was as "Kevin the Nerd", Otto's co-worker at the supermarket, in Repo Man.
Schloss joined the Circle Jerks in 1984 after auditions were held to replace original bassist Roger Rogerson, who quit the band after the 1983 release of the critically-acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful album Golden Shower of Hits. He was present on the band's last two albums, Wonderful (1985) and VI (1987), before they split up in 1989 while guitarist Greg Hetson had joined Bad Religion. Schloss reunited with the Circle Jerks in 1994 to record Oddities, Abnormalities and Curiosities, the band's last studio album to date.
Supposedly this character was the inspiration for Napoleon Dynamite.
He was trialed to be a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers for four days, but after a falling-out with John Frusciante, it was decided it wasn't going to work.
He is the step-brother of San Francisco musician Dan Wool and screenwriter/electrician Abbe Wool.
