[edit] Madeleine Pelletier

Thanks for fixing the French, I have no idea about French and Babelfish isn't too good either. I hope to expand the article when I get a book, there's not much online about her work--nixie 23:24, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] USGS

Could you give me a link to the site where you're getting the aerial photography from the USGS? I use google maps normally, but of course that's not copyright free. I want to use it for school articles, and some others. Thanks for your time and effort! --Zantastik 22:40, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

Hello Zantastik. A number of different resources exist on the internet which contain a library of USGS aerial photographs. From what I've experienced, Microsoft Terraserver and schooltree.org are the easiest to navigate. Microsoft allows you to search by address or GPS coordinates, SchoolTree by the name of the school. Be aware that the framing of the school can be off a bit at times, so it is best to zoom out a bit to ensure you have the best possible picture. Over the next few weeks I will be assembling and publishing a toolkit to quickly build an informative school article which meets the majority of BEEFSTEW criteria as well as a potential replacement for BEEFSTEW. Happy editing! Bahn Mi 21:34, 24 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Invitation for Gmail

Hi. I saw on fr: that you were offering invitations for Gmail and I would be most grateful if I could benefit from one. I'm not sure what the procedure is, though. Do you need an existing email address or do you just give me a code I can use to enter Gmail ? Or is there another way ? Please answer here. Thank you. — Oxag 13:26, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Soda

hey, Zantastik, how much soda do you drink? If you drink, what's your favorite brand? - KellyClarksonTV (signature added by Jersyko)

Don't bother answering. See my talk page archive if you want to know why. This user (aka Andrew Lin) is using talk pages as platforms to annoy and spread his odd anti-soda campaign since his articles about the same have all been deleted or are up for VFD. - Jersyko 22:24, May 26, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] I'm Special

Zan, just though you might be interested to know that, for some reason, i've got a vandal with a personal vendetta against me. Check this out. Something to do with an edit i made to the NASCAR page, i think. I think it's rather humorous and take it as a sign i must be doing something right. :) - Jersyko 22:31, May 26, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Orange Mound Article

Looks like someone beat us to it. See Orange Mound, Memphis. - Jersyko 00:25, May 27, 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, my thoughts were similar :). Let's not put it off too long, or we won't have time to do everything we need to do before you leave (though now we have to do less, fortunately). - Jersyko 00:48, May 27, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Rfc on the Stop Drinking Soda Vandal

Any chance you'd be willing to comment on this request for comment? - Jersyko talk 15:11, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your Signature

You need to make the following change to your signature: [[User:Zantastik|]] [[User talk:Zantastik|talk]] . The other format will cause bolding problems, as it did to mine on my talk page. Thanks should go to Guy M. Jersyko talk 12:38, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Many thanks for your kind comments about my Pepperoni Roll entry.

[edit] How to vote for deletion/non deletion/ or merger of an article

I have read many articles on this site. And, recently, I have started a few articles (TheocracyWatch, Camp Quest Canada, International Humanist and Ethical Union) and I am woundering on how you get the privillage to vot for or against the deletion of an article.

[edit] Thanks for the reassurance

Thanks for telling me that I was on the right track. I was stumbling through the entire thing while trying to follow the tutorial. I think I understand it now, and I'm constantly learning new Wiki protocol.

Nice job welcoming me and other newcomers. See you around the Wiki! Recnilgiarc 01:46, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Stamen

Excellent stamen picuture, nice work. Make sure to upload your other best macro photos, you certainly took quite a few good ones. - Jersyko talk 03:29, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, Re: Congressional Districts

Thanks for oberserving my district pages. I'm new to this, is there any way to encourage others to help create other district pages? My main movtivation was to show election results, but other information would be great. The main difficulty is calculating the swings and other data, since the states are poor in keeping election data, unlike the UK or Canada.

Please check the guidlines for successful VfD nomination process at the bottom of this page f. ex. Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Log/Today. Best wishes, Feydey 11:39, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for correcting my article about NBC Giga.

[edit] Gabäude

It's cool that you can translate simple German. I can do that too, it's called a German/English dictionary. Anyway, why did you request that the Erfahrungsgemaß page be deleted? The album, is almost finished, just needs some tweaking and it's ready for release. I can put the same information for this album as I have for the others if that would help you decide not to have the album deleted. Just don't go around removing articles, thank you.

I'm not trying to be snappy. I guess when I use Wikipedia I usually try not to mess with someones article unless I know I can make it better. I would not request that anyone's article be deleted unless it was missinformation or so pointless that it was just stupid. An article about the City of Chicago is not pointless, but if someone had a link on that page that wewnt to the history of a tree on the corner of Jackson and Balbo then that would be pointless (unless some REALLY good information existed). If the information is true and does not seem to be fake then I usually say "well if they feel it is important..." Just because you feel it is not important that does not mean other people will agree with you. You're not the important police. Go back to the page I added more information. The album really isn't in progress. It's really like 3 - 4 days from being completely finished.

[edit] Tooth Enamel

"Knowing the orientation of enamel is very important in restorative dentistry because enamel unsupported by underlying dentin is prone to fracture and usually is avoided [1]."

Good question. Let me clarify. It is avoided in restorative dentistry by the dentist when preparing a tooth for (some examples) an amalgam restoration or a crown. Especially true for amalgam restoration, the preparation (or "cutting") of the tooth with "the drill" (I think my teachers would kill me for this explanation--- it should be called a "handpiece") is attempted to keep consistent with the orientation of the enamel rods. That's the best I can do for now. Gotta run to class. You can shoot over any other questions. -Dozenist talk 11:38, 11 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion criteria

Zan, you ought to check this out, while some of the changes proposed might not be bad ideas, others are worded in ways that could be quite dangerous. I've voted in 4 so far. - Jersyko talk 21:11, July 15, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Antarctic krill

hallo Zantastik! thank you for your comment. Maybe you can help us getting these errors fixed. My English is rotten. Hallo to fine France from Uwe Kils Image:heringmini.jpg 15:30, July 17, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Royal Assent

Did he really threaten to sell the palace to Bill Gates? That sounds terribly fishy to me. If we can't find a source for it, it could be just vandalism. Let's address this before the article hits the front page tomorrow. --Zantastik talk 18:48, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

Interestingly, not the palace, but the whole darn country. I found this in Britannica yearbook 1998. (Referring to events of 1997) "Though a remark by the Prince about selling Leichtenstein to Bill Gates and renaming it Microsoft was not meant to be taken seriously, in July, when faced by politicians opposing his effort to gain the power to appoint judges, he ended discussions by saying he would pack his bags and move Princess Maria, the children and himself to Vienna" Dainamo 23:42, 18 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for the work you have been doing at Italian Renaissance. I tend to automatically ignore small errors and am thus a pretty hopeless copyeditor. Your help in this area is much appreciated. - SimonP 00:46, July 19, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your work on Wikipedia

I noticed that you have done a great job on Wikipedia doing minor corrections and fixes. I hereby award you the Minor Barnstar for making minor edits of the utmost quality. Thanks! — Stevey7788 (talk) 21:20, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

Yay for Zan! I thought about giving you this one myself awhile back, but knowing you would get one eventually, i figured it would mean more coming from someone else. Display with pride. - Jersyko talk 21:23, July 19, 2005 (UTC)
You're welcome, Zantastik. — Stevey7788 (talk) 23:00, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Carte orange, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently-created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

[edit] Impressive work

I have to say, i'm quite impressed with your Carte orange article, it's developing quite nicely. Maybe the Parisian air is more conducive to Wikipedia editing than the Memphis air? - Jersyko talk 12:30, July 29, 2005 (UTC)
