[edit] Swastika template

Hi Zandweb, we don't make templates like this in "template space" anymore. I'm going to move it to your userspace at User:Zandweb/Swastikan and you can transcribe it into any page you want just the same. Thanks -- Samir धर्म 14:07, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I gave you a chance. Please understand that userboxes made in template space will be deleted. -- Samir धर्म 01:21, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
User templates are not allowed in template space. The alternative is to keep it in your userspace where you can use it just like a template. You can transcribe it into any page you want with {{User:Zandweb/Swastikan}}. Here is an example:
This user is interested in the Swastika.

I hope this is a reasonable compromise -- Samir धर्म 09:12, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Çeng

Hello, would you please explain your edits to Çeng? This is an article about a Turkish instrument. Your additions make it about a Persian instrument. This would be like saying that the santoor is a Persian instrument when in actuality it is an Indian instrument derived from a Persian instrument. This is an important distinction. Also, what is your source that the Turkish Çeng comes from a Persian instrument and what does the word "palm" have to do with a harp? Badagnani 18:11, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Turko-Iranian

Why did you create Turko-Iranian this is against Wikipedia:No original research. Do you want to be famous? Do you support separatism and Pan-Turkism? Are you really Iranian?

zandweb 06:50, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Everyone is free to edit this wikipedia, if you think something is incorrect, change it. However in the process, try to be WP:Civil and don't accuse people randomly. To answer your questions, no I don't support seperatism and pan-Turkism, and yes I am Iranian --K a s h Talk | email 11:29, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] And one final thing

It is a decidedly bad idea to call administrators vandals: [1] -- Samir धर्म 11:31, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you Ldingley 18:51, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Qanun

I've reverted your insertion of the Iranian template in this article. Please read the article's discussion page for reasons, which I've already stated to another editor. It would be just as wrong to insert the Turkish musical instrument template as the one you added. This is not the place to carry out ages-old ethnic conflicts; the quanun is both Turkish and Persian (as well as Armenian), so let's leave it at that, OK? +ILike2BeAnonymous 19:07, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Your separation of one article into two might be one way to resolve this dispute, but do you have a source for the claim that "Kanun is a Turkish instrument but Qanun is Iranian instrument"? —Keenan Pepper 22:39, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Isak Bey?

You left the following comment on my discussion page:

Neden bu sayfanin adani degistirdi? Kapacinini bu dafa.

I assume this is Farsi, correct? I don't understand this language, so I don't know what you're trying to tell me. Would you please put this in English for me? +ILike2BeAnonymous 20:48, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for mediation (re: Qanun)

A request for mediation has been filed with the Mediation Committee that lists you as a party. The Mediation Committee requires that all parties listed in a mediation must be notified of the mediation. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Qanun, and indicate whether you agree or refuse to mediate. If you are unfamiliar with mediation, please refer to Wikipedia:Mediation. There are only seven days for everyone to agree, so please check as soon as possible.

[edit] Qanun - Kanunً

I'm invited to take part in mediation of the articles Qanun and Kanun. I'm sorry but I believe you are wrong in this matter and I will vote against you unless you have evidences to prove your point. This device is used in many countries and the letter ق in Qanun is Arabic. As far as I know the source that you mention in this article is in Farsi and can not be used by non Farsi speakers. Also the picture you are using is not suitable for English wiki as it describes parts of this instrument in Farsi.

My question as an Iranian is what do you want to achieve by doing this? I don't think this is patriotism or anything like that. I Would recommened taking a more positive, constructive and pragmatic approach. Mahanchian 18:49, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ummmm...

Zandweb, I appreciate the effort you put into this, but don't you think Wikipedia:WikiProject Ossetia is a little bit POV? It's like me creating "WikiProject Kurdistan" and adding "Kurdistan stubs" to articles like Diyarbakır Province, Urmia, and Iraq War. Just something to think about. —Khoikhoi 03:03, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Khoi
The Goals of this WP are attentioned in it and so you can read here:
Goals
WikiProject Ossetia was created to help those interested in improving all of the Ossetian-related articles on Wikipedia to find a particular area in which they are interested in working. Our goals are as following:
  • Present a realistic view of Ossetia and the Ossetian people in the world.
  • Make Wikipedia a primary and reliable source of Ossetia related information.
  • To improve the quality and quantity of Ossetia related articles, including improving Ossetia to featured article status.
If you saw any part of this Goals are mentioned:
Goals
WikiProject Ossetia was created to POV User:Zandweb's Idea ...
then you can say it is POV.
If you think any of those mentioned Goals are POV you are free to moderate it, but before that I suggest you to read at least two more WPs and their Goals.
If you want to create any WP yu can read [2]. Fortunately I will not remove all stubs related to its articles like this: [3] / [4] / [5], and I will not stimulate or persuade someone to do like these: [6] / [7]. Because these are exactly POV and POV organize according to chauvinism and bigotry.

ZANDWEBT

Zandweb, you must understand that I have nothing against Ossetians or Iranians in general. Myself, along with another user even made Iranian peoples Wikipedia's 1000th featured article a few months ago. My concern is basically the title. The idea that North & South Ossetians should unify to become one country (or entity) is a POV, and I don't think it's out job as Wikipedians to take that side, or the other side for that matter. I think a more neutral title would be "WikiProject Ossetians" or "WikiProject Ossetian". However, compare to this scenerio:
I decide to add Arabia-stubs to Ahvaz and other Khuzestan articles, Kurdistan-stubs to Sanandaj and other articles, and make most articles about places and people from south-eastern Iran part of WikiProject Balochistan. By doing all of this I am effectively Balkanizing Iran—WikiProject style. Tell me, would you accept that?
Also please understand that I reverted you simply because the articles in question were not stubs (I am not an anti-Ossetian). Anyways, I would like to hear your input on this, as I am afraid some people will propose your creations for deletion if some sort of compromise is not made. Khoda-hafez, doosteh man. —Khoikhoi 05:07, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Dear Khoikhoi, try to read the article about Ossetia with a neutral eye. There you can find, what do they mean speaking about "Ossetia" -- an ethnolinguistic unity, as they talk about, say, Korea or probably other such regions. I don't see how that damages Wikipedia. Trying to imagine your way implemented, I have problems about classifying Arsen Kotsoyev as a South-Ossetian or North-Ossetian writer, etc. - Slavik IVANOV 22:20, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Dear Khoikhoi, If you think a more neutral title would be "WikiProject Ossetians" or "WikiProject Ossetian" you can take part in Wikipedia:WikiProject Ossetia as a Participant then it is possible for you by using Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ossetia/Voting with regards to all Participants, give your suggestion and reason. It is not my own project. It is a Wikiproject.

[edit] unproper stubs

Hi Zandweb. There's just a little thing I feel I'd better explain, so to avoid future confusion. As can be seen by WP:STUB, we only add stub tags to short articles, that have to developed. For this, putting a stub tag at extensive articles like Ossetia or Isfahan is an error, and for this they get removed. Have care,--Aldux 00:48, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rubab Article

Hi, I noticed you said I was VANDALIZING the page, but I think you just used the info from the ORIGINAL article which I had to rename Afghan Rubab because you kept changing it. I think you could be vandalizing too, look at the original mention of it in Music of Afghanistan. Both countries use the instrument, so both should be included. Try fixing it because the info on the page now is incorrect! 72.196.229.15 19:06, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent spamming campaign against me

If you even knew anything about me, you'd know that I'm not "pro-Georgian". Stop it or you will be blocked. Khoikhoi 03:39, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Two Articles in need of your attention

There are two entries at Wikipedia, which have falsely created -- they are Turco-Persian and Turko-Persian Tradition. Both entries are factitious. I have requested the entries to be deleted. My reasons are:

The term Turko-Persian Tradition (or Turco-Persian) does not exists academically and it is a factitious entry! Check the Encyclopaedia Iranica to confirm -- The correct name for that culture is the Persianate culture not the "Turko-Persian". Turkophones (mostly of mixed race and Persianized in culture) only spoke in Turkic dialects and were in the military. That is not enough participation in creating and forming the culture to deserve the name "Turko-Persian Tradition" – This is misinformation. All the elements in that area, which have to do with tradition and culture, were drawn from the Iranian culture (Persian, Kurdish, Azari, Baluchi, Tajik, Luri, Gilaki, Talishi, Mazandarani, etc.), and the Islamic faith, not much Turkic elements (like shamanism, yurts etc.) were incorporated in. That is what makes the name "Turko-Persian" an imaginary one and therefore the entry should be deleted.

Any contributions would greatly appreciate – please add your comments, whether you agree with the deletion, or otherwise to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Turco-Persian as well as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Turko-Persian Tradition. Bā Sepās Surena 02:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dosalan

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Dosalan, by Dr.Noperhaps (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Qpust.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Qpust.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Iranian genocides

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Iranian genocides, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Incubator

I've never seen incubator links before, but that notwithstanding, interwikis are only to specific articles, i.e. the Tati article on Azerbaijan or what not. --Golbez (talk) 00:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
