Talk:Zan Perrion
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article should not be deleted because it is relevant - certainly meriting a place among the other notable members of the "seduction community" who have articles on here. N'est pas? AlisonPlunderland 18:16, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Alison
- If this guy is an expert on something or a known author, he sure doesn't show up via googling. This looks like advertizing to me. Friday (talk) 18:28, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

- I just checked on Google, and you are right, Friday. There is no results for "Zan Perrion". However, I believe that is probably because Zan has never used his last name in public. Everyone in the seduction community knows him simply as Zan. If you search for anything else however - like "zan seduction" or "zan dating" - it's number one in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Also, Zan was flown to NYC by ABC to appear on "The View" with Neil Strauss. However, Hurricane Katrina caused ABC to change some of its scheduling. As a result, they filmed that edition of "The View" with Neil Strauss a day early, while Zan's plane was landing. He has also featured prominently in almost every major "event" in the sduction community, has been featured on David Deangelo's Interview Series and his Advanced series. My point is that if there are articles about notable members and pioneers of the "seduction community", Zan surely should be among them. That's my view anyway...AlisonPlunderland 19:03, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Alison
How the hell did you guys find out his last name? I've met Zan a couple of times (he's a friend of a friend), and still didn't catch his last name. It's pretty funny I found it on wikipedia... Prune

- Zan is featured in the New York Times bestseller The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists, which is a reliable secondary source. Hence, we can have an article on him. Anyone who considers a New York times bestseller to not provide sufficient notability and verifiability can take it up at articles for deletion (I have removed the hasty proposed deletion template; why ). That being said, the article needs major rewriting. It is full of POV problems and I am uncomfortable with some of the non-notable sources. I might see what I can do to improve it in the next couple weeks. --SecondSight 23:49, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A link
Aside from Neil Strauss' book, his references include links to his business website. I'm concerned about the validity of the article. The original text suggests Zan came up with concepts like "natural game", which after some brief research in the seduction community would reveal that's not the case. His "confident humor" concept seems to be a little too close to "cocky & funny", a concept coined by David DeAngelo, another Seduction teacher. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Snapplee (talk • contribs) 19:28, 8 February 2007
Here's a link to the stuff I just removed. [1]. Hipocrite - «Talk» 04:05, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Here is the text of the crap I removed.
From "Background":
Zan was an early contributor to the seduction community body of literature, and his writings and concepts have influenced many of the world's most notable seduction gurus and dating coaches.[1]
From "Concepts":
He asserts that men who have a "purpose in life" are massively attractive to women, and that men should spend their time "moving toward beauty and away from things that are not beautiful".[2] Another key concept that Zan advocates is the notion that most of the rejection men experience originates from their own self-limiting beliefs, and their inner concepts of themselves. As a result, there is a strong emphasis in his work on the idea of changing mindsets, and in teaching concepts that are "internally focused, less about routines and tactics and more about emotions and ideas."[3] Zan also presents the idea that the secret of all natural seducers is that they aren't "born with the ability to flirt with and seduce women, they learn it. And what one man can do, so can another."[4] He also advocates the notion that a "natural seducer doesn’t pick and choose who he flirts with — he’s charming to all women."[5]

Apparently he is currently filming a movie called "Let the Game Begin", in which he plays himself. Dessydes 02:35, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
