Zakatkhana

Zakatkhana is a village situated in the Bilaspur District of Himachal Pradesh. The name of Zakatkhana was taken from the word Zakat, or "toll tax." There was a "toll tax barrier" at the time of the British Government. This village falls on old National Highway-21 which was Bilaspur to Ropar Punjab before 1954, which was merged after construction of Bhakhra Dam. This village has 1500 residents and is agricultural.
