[edit] Fair use rationale for Zaka
Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- It is a historically significant photograph of a team of ZAKA volunteers assisting during a suicide attack in Israel.
- It is being used for informational purposes.
- Because it depicts a non-reproducible historic event, there is no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary.
- Our use of it does not affect its monetary value, or it has no monetary value.
- We have no reason to believe the copyright holder would object.
