[edit] I am removing the {prod} tag

The nominator offered two reasons why they thought this article should be deleted.

  1. They think "Being accused of being a terrorist is not grounds for notability."
  2. They felt the article did not comply with the wikipedia's neutral point of view policy.

Tackling these justifications in reverse order -- WP:DEL has a table listing different kinds of concerns a wikipedia contributor might have, and how they should address those concerns. According to that table a perceived POV is not ground to nominate an article for deletion. -- If a perceived POV is not grounds for {afd} then surely it is not grounds for a {prod}.

With regard to the nominator's first concern, well

  1. Zahid Al-Sheikh was not simply accused of being a terrorist. Zahid Al-Sheikh's alleged association with terrorism is being used as a justification for the indefinite detention, without charge, of other individuals.
  2. Zahid Al-Sheikh is alleged to be the director of an organization listed as a terrorist organization on Executive Order 13224.

I have been doing a lot of work on the articles about individual Guantanamo captives, and the articles related to them. I have started possibly a dozen, or two dozen articles about significant individuals who were mentioned in captives Combatant Status Review Tribunals or Administrative Review Board hearings. They start small. But sometimes I determine that the American intelligence analysts used an idiosyncratic spelling of the individual's name, and I can merge the info into a previously existing article. Sometimes other captive's proceedings add to what is known about the individual, and I can start to flesh it out. In a number of cases I have come across other DoD documents to flesh out the articles.

The relative brevity of this article is not necessarily indicative of its importance.
