[edit] 2003 Season
Hilton made the final roster as an undrafted free agent for the New Orleans Saints. In the preseason, he made four catches for 91 yards and led the team. He was then inactive for eleven games, but made his way into three.
[edit] 2004 Season
Hilton also made the final roster this season but was deemed inactive and eventually fell to practice squad. He was back on the roster by week 13 of the regular season but was still inactive.
[edit] 2005 Season
Hilton finally saw live action in the 2005 season. He started six games, catching 35 passes for 396 yards and one touchdown after starter Ernie Conwell went down. Hilton caught a career-long 29 yard reception against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
[edit] 2006 Season
Hilton's poor blocking skills quickly landed him in the doghouse of new head coach Sean Payton. New Orleans cut Hilton from the roster before the 2006 regular season began. Hilton was signed and released by the Jets two times in 2006, failing to crack the active roster. He has not played a down in the NFL regular season since.
[edit] 2007 Season
The Washington Redskins signed free agent Zach Hilton to a one-year contract for the league minimum salary, according to the fantasy football web site Rotoworld.com.
Zach Hilton was released by the Redskins in the summer of 2007, without having ever taken the field for his hometown team.
Hilton was signed to a contract with the San Francisco 49ers in July of 2007, but was cut before the regular season began.
In 2008, Hilton signed a one-year contract with, and is currently playing for, the New Orleans Voodoo of the Arena Football League. However, after dropping several passes in a season opening loss, Hilton's star continues to fall, and he has seen his playing time greatly diminished.
[edit] Personal
Zach Hilton attended Good Counsel high school in Wheaton, Maryland, where his father, Tom "Tank" Hilton was a teacher.
