[edit] Image tagging for Image:RinggitSample.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:RinggitSample.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] License tagging for Image:Area56.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Area56.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

[edit] Rapid KL buses

IMHO separating the buses back into zones is not useful to readers. Users wouldn't really bother to know which Area they are in. Besides the bus numbering already does that job. At the beginning of the article, readers are briefed about this system, so there is no use repeating it.

Furthermore, most people would not be interested in knowing the dates of the revamp when planning their journey. Hence I believe that putting all that "historical information" under the heading "history" is better suited.

I think dividing the route information into many bits and pieces like it is now is confusing. Readers would think that there are six different systems in place, when in fact Rapid KL launched the routes according to Areas out of convenience.

Please reconsider the case for grouping all the bus routes into types again. Thanks.

Stargirl85 15:00, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Stargirl85, please read the comments at the talk session of Rapid KL Buses Thank you :)

Re your msg: "Helo, in regards for Rapid KL page, can you do me a favour? Can you do make another map for the public transport in KL (the generic map), with showing only the Rapid KL rails visible (both Ampang/Sripetaling and Kelana Jaya lines) while the other rail lines blurred. (What you have done so far, is highlighting the lines in 2 separate maps). I want to display the map visibly in the Rapid KL main wikisite. Thank you :) Zack2007 06:41, 9 October 2006 (UTC)"

Tks for your msg. I do not have a PC with Adobe Illustrator at the moment. Will do the necessary maps when I get my hands on one. My old PC has gone kaput so can't do much now. Slleong 13:26, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Regarding your recent message: colour coding - I think it is a good idea in colouring the column. Yes that can help consolidate some of the messy tables.

connection from and to - I think it is a good idea, although I am not sure how useful it would be. Not everyone changes at the beginning and end of the routes. I think a better thing to work on is to create pages for hubs and train stations like KL Sentral. Or maybe better clearer versions of Rapid KL's network maps. Trying to describe connections using words can be confusing and it is better done by showing maps.

route description - that's what I've been trying to do. Starting of with train stations.

I can try my best to help. :) Stargirl85 10:56, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kuala Lampur

Nice work on the Kuala Lampur article. One minor point, though-- the Manual of Style calls for lower case in headings after the initial cap in most cases ("Public transportation", not "Public Transportation"). Also, you might want to try to be more attentive to filling in the Edit summary field on every edit-- it helps other editors decide whether they need to check out any particular edit. Sorry to be carping-- there's a lot to learn when you get started here.

Happy editing! -- Mwanner | Talk 13:12, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About Rail Transport (Klang Valley)

I agree with what you said, Zack2007. I also think that it should be renamed from Light Rail Transport (Klang Valley) to Rail Transport (Klang Valley). However, I cannot move the categories. Thank you. Acs4b 04:14, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

I think categories should be named according to naming conventions. For example, I think Rail transport(Klang Valley) should be Rail transport in Klang Valley like other similar categories.Wai Hong 08:04, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Creating station pages

In the pages you have created, you have mentioned "___________ station or __________ is an LRT station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that is operated by Kelana Jaya Line." Kelana Jaya Line is the name of the service, not the name of the operator. Before you go on to create more pages, please correct this. Also, why do we have to repeat the "_________ station or _________". Isn't that redundant?

And can you cite the references wrt the overhead bridge from Abdullah Hukum etc.

Painkille 16:12, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Grammar

Masjid Jamek station;

"Masjid Jamek station is a set of LRT stations operated by Rapid KL and served for the Kelana Jaya Line and both the Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line."

Isn't the grammar wrong - the "served for the ..."? Rapid KL isn't serving something TO Kelana Jaya, as your correction implies. Rather, it should read as ...Rapid KL and served by the... since Rapid KL is using the Kelana Jaya Line to serve the station.

I think you have used this grammar on quite a number of pages, and I would like to clarify this with you before any further changes are made. Painkille 16:59, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Yah it should be "___ Station is served by the _____ Line" Painkille 08:58, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Malaysia Airlines

Look, i didn't delete the information, i shifted it to the timeline of MAS since some people tag it as ad,but nvm, if u think it is better to shif it back to the original, then it is okay,i just don't like those people who tag almost all Malaysia Airlines article as ad when they the POV is not disputed.Marcusaffleck 10:55, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] demographics of malaysia and malaysian culture

it is a fact. a very popular opinion. racism really exist in malaysia. and i think if the malays, find out about this, they will wake up and do something to change the way other races think. please just leave it or fix it to make it sound more... official.

Read what i said in your page (pleae log in..dont hide under ur ip, u seem suspicious, even though ur ip said ur in Johor Bahru btw)Zack2007 10:46, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

i dont see anything wrong with my edit. there are many pages with this type of thing. like... criticisms on the new bond actor.

you must be a malay yourself. what are you doing wasting your time in wikipedia. go study instead of wasting your parents money.

I am sorry that you think such a thing. I am contributing to wikipedia, and not trying to bash anyone's race or benefiting whatever race I am. And I am carrying the neutral point of view of Wikipedia. Let say what you said is correct, why dont you present urself with credible evidence and proof. Criticism is the new bond actor, but if it is not credible enough, who would listen to you. This age is about evidence based and proof-based information. And, what is wrong with spending time with wikipedia? There are millions who use wikipedia out there. Even yourself. Without anyone contributing, how could it grow. May I suggest you contribute. I mean informatively contribute and register your IP address. From that I can see your 'seriousness' in contributing. Zack2007 06:55, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Oh I just read the comments u put in demographics of malaysia. I forgot how the level of mentality you are. My time is so wasted trying to explain to you while your mentality is succumb into that low level. From now on, you do not have my respect anymore.Zack2007 07:19, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Air Nepal Intl

Your credibility of being a capable wikipedian is indeed being questioned. You are a Malaysian yourself but you do not even know about the on goings at KLIA. You refuse to believe that Air Nepal International(SZ) has terminated services to KLIA and on top of this has since ceased operations. When MAS(MH) ceased oeprations to Ahmedabad, Manchester, Xian etc it was also a quiet affair which little people are aware of let alone this low profile airline-SZ). Call and check the "office of" SZ to check.218.186.8.13 01:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Your credibility of being a capable wikipedian is being questioned as well. Firstly, you do not even has a user ID. How convinient is that. Everyone knows where you live now. I refuse to believe because you do not give any PROOF at all. All you said above is blabbing BS about that it ceased operation and I am not a malaysian because I don't believe on that. Duh, are you more malaysian by believing on that? I can say anything cease operation but are you goin to believe me without any proof. All the evidence are pointed into saying they have not ceasing operation. I am going against you this time unless you have given me a CREDIBLE PROOF! --Zack2007 05:11, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

hello i have personally called KLIA to verify and you yourself can check that their website is no longer in use they have ceased operations for goodness sake.218.186.8.13 05:30, 20 December 2006 (UTC)what credible proof can you give that they are in operation?

can you read the talk page of Kuala Lumpur International Airport? I have mentioned two proofs there. From KLIA website and from Manang travel agent(this maybe not so credible). but what I am saying is, you and marcus said two different things. Marcus mentioned he has asked the KLIA officials, and you also called KLIA. WHo is correct? I would rather believe Marcus, at least he does not hide under his shadow (well he registers), unlike you who rather be anon (go register yourself a nickname for gawd sake). --Zack2007 05:38, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

fine zack so it was not you who doubted this.i am sorry. btw in this free-for-all-to-edit wikipedia. you have to understand that here in wikipedia, there are just as many wikipedians that choose to contribute not for fame unlike some people who throw their weights around that they edited most they are more senior or what so ever nonsense.and to the fact that i sounded harsh, i offer my apologies here I AM sorry. so it was that marcus. if he were to go and check the IATA website too beside asking that "offical" from KLIA, he would have known that Air Nepal International(SZ) is NO LONGER in operation. I would love to have airlines in KLIA but this does not change the fact that Air Mepal International is no longer in operation. http://www.airlinecodes.co.uk/ There is currently no Airline allocated to IATA Code SZ. Ask him if he needs me to call the international office of IATA too. Where is his credibility as a wikipedian. Does he not know that wikipedians are not always right and that he should not throw his weight around that he is a wikipedian? Finally please tell him to move on. and to check his sources before he accuse that i am wrong. i did my homework.218.186.8.13 05:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

It's not being famous or anything really for registering. It is about being consistency. And by being consistency you are more valued of your contribution. I know you use the same IP address everytime. But you are risking exposure of your IP address as well which is not good. I really seriously think you should rethink about contributing with IP address exposed. Alright these are what I call proofs. Thank you for letting me know and realize that we can check their IATA code online. Hmm, can you please repost what u just said above in the talk page of KLIA. I am sure everyone would realise it now. Don't merely edit the article without everyone agrees, ok? it just sounds so suspicious, and we wikipedian don't like suspicious things. I know Marcus has serious explaining to do but you did ur homework. Well done! sorry if I have said some harsh things as well. Please post the things u said in talk page of KLIA. thank you. --Zack2007 06:08, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use image in user namespace

Hello!

You have used a fair use image in your user namespace (Image:MalaysiaAirlinesLogo New.jpg, Image:Logo airasia.gif and Image:Singapore Airlines logo.png in User:Zack2007). Criterion 9 of the Wikipedia:Fair use criteria states that "Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine." I have removed it on these grounds.

[edit] Jawi and Chinese characters

Regarding the use of the characters mentioned above in Kuching, I beg to differ. Jawi might be part of the Malay language, but it is not used officially. Furthermore, official government documents use Roman alphabets.

On the issue of Kuching, there is no Jawi signboards in Kuching, not even as a subtitle for road names. While the airport does provide signs in other languages, it is in Arabic, not Jawi. Therefore I believe that we should limit it to just 'Kuching'. The same goes with the airport article too.– Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 10:48, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Having a Jawi script is not wrong. But I prefer putting them where the entity in question is actually spelled in Jawi - for example, Utusan Melayu, Tuhfat al-Nahfis and Sejarah Melayu. I noticed that in Malaysia Airlines, Jawi and Chinese were used. It's a little too much, don't you think? If MAS used Jawi and/or Chinese in it's broucheres, magazines and correspondence that it will be okay, otherwise I am of the opinion that both should go.
Again I repeat my point that Kuching does not use Jawi either officially or non-officially. Have a look at the Sarawak state emblem, the city council logos and other materials relating to Sarawak. You will find that Jawi is rarely, if ever, used. Of course, I have no objection over this if the entity fulfilled the requirement that I have outlined above.– Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 12:50, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
I would like to propose something to help us come to an agreement:
  • Roman and Jawi will be used, but Jawi is used either in the infobox or article (not both);
  • Other scripts should be preferably placed in the article, as to avoid cluttering the infobox;
  • We must not have too many scripts, unless it is relevant (for example, airports that have Japanese and Chinese scripts)
So, what say you? Bolehkah?Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 15:17, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
I hereby agree with your suggestion. And as per the mediation cabal of the Changi Airport, I think that word-by-word, translated versions of the original name should be sidelined. After all, the discussions over at Changi indicates that the usage of the four languages in dispute is widespread (on signs and so on). The same cannot be said for Jawi. Kuala Lumpur International Airport's infobox is fine for me, but I am not satisfied with Malaysia Airlines's, of which I am of the opionion that English and Malay should suffice. After all, Jawi is Malay written in another script.
For other articles regarding Malaysia, I believe that it will be good if the Jawi script goes into the infobox (if it has one) and in the introduction (if it does not have an infobox). And of course, for Kuching the Roman and Jawi script should suffice.– Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 18:13, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
We might have a situation at Kuching. Have a look at the history. Could you please talk to Mike86?– Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 12:06, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
The problem is not with earth, but with Mike86's addition of Chinese scripts. San Francisco with its 31% Chinese population does not have Chinese scripts. earth has cited WP:UE as the reason for removal, and I agree with him.– Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 07:51, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Great work! But mention Malaysia...

Hi Zack2007 - I must congratulate you on making such a lot of useful contributions to Wikipedia - so many new articles, carefully and systematically added!

One small point. I was editing a couple of your neat little articles about LRT stations (because I was working on an article about a place near them) and noticed that the articles assumed that the reader knows that they are in Kuala Lumpur and that KL is in Malaysia. Have a look at Sentul LRT station, for example. I think it would be better to start something like:

Sentul LRT station is an LRT near Sentul in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The station is operated by Rapid KL and served by Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line.

instead of just:

Sentul LRT station is an LRT station operated by Rapid KL and served by Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line.

By including the "in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia" you help readers who are unfortunate enough not to be familiar with Malaysia.

I've done a few of the southern stations on the Sri Petaling Line, but haven't time to do them all. Thought this comment may help when you are creating new articles.

Keep up the good work. Wikipedia needs people like you :)

Hi. I noticed your recent editing to the Batu Pahat page. Please do not simply add the flag and info box into the page, and shrinked the Johore map. [edit] Jawi Script

Actually im not so sure if Jawi Script is really necessary to be included in the page. However, i think Kawaputra is somehow right that Sabah & Sarawak is very different from the west Malaysia since the agreement of Malaysia Formation in 1963 was being inked. Sabah & Sarawak may have some politically different from the West Malaysia as well as the immigration control of West Malaysians to Sabah and Sarawak. Being a resident of Kuching, as i have been raised up here for more than 20 years, i never see a Jawi Script was being used in the city. As i have said Kuching is unique from other cities in Malaysia where it is the only city in Malaysia with road names printed in Chinese/Mandarin. Besides, Jawi Script was only compulsory to Muslims where there is a large number of Malaysians cannot read the script, this is one of the points. Besides, Jawi Script has never been utilised in Malaysia where it is only utilised in Islamic teaching. These are my comments about this issue. I think only certain states or cities in Malaysia deserve to have Jawi Script, such as Kelantan, Kota Bharu, etc. Mike86 13:35, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation Cabal Request

Hello! I'm .V., a member of Wikipedia's mediation cabal. We provide informal and optional mediation to users in disputes so, hopefully, it can be resolved early instead of being taken to "official" channels (the Mediation Committee or Arbitration). A user has filed a mediation cabal request regarding a discussion on a page in which you are a participant. You can find a link to the mediation here.

Remember, this mediation is purely optional and the result is non-binding. The goal of this mediation is to hopefully resolve the matter peacably, fairly, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Thanks! .V. [Talk|Email] 23:15, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Rapid transit system?

The lines do run along the Klang Valley. If this is too much trouble, I suggest deleting the Klang Valley transport categories to be replaced by Category:Transport in Kuala Lumpur, Category:Transport in Selangor and Category:Transport in Negeri Sembilan (for the Rawang-Seremban Line). The Klang Valley isn't an official territory anyway. - Two hundred percent 05:09, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Fine, do whatever you like, but replace Category:Rail Transport (Klang Valley), and rename Category:Light Rail Transit (Malaysia) lines and Category:Rail Transport (Klang Valley) stations per naming convention. The sloppy naming was the reason I started the resuffle in the first place. But I can't edit large volumes of text right now. - Two hundred percent 05:49, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
But it's still techically correct that the rail lines are in the Klang Valley. Part of it runs outside KL and runs within the Valley. And why would Category:Rail Transport (Klang Valley) stations list stations along said lines too? - Two hundred percent 05:54, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New State template

i made a new template: template:kelantan, and template:sabah. they now include the coat of arms of the state. tell me what u think ok. kawaputra 05:20, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

your template looks fine. however im not sure if it will work for larger navbox/template eg Johor, Sabah, Selangor. i tried using ur template on Sabah, but the flag was not parallel with the coat of arms. if u can make it parallel, i have no problem with it..kawaputra 09:32, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

ya sure. i'll gradually change those templates soon when free. u can help too if u like yea..--kawaputra 11:03, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
hey, the new navbox is not bad. i would like it more if u can justify the text (make it centered). now the text are aligned to the left, so it looks abit unbalanced. but otherwise not bad la..kawaputra 07:10, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
yea the johor one is ok for me. personally i like Template:Kuala Lumpur. maybe we should the other msian editors what they think? kawaputra 09:02, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bandaraya or Bandar Raya

are u suggesting we use "Bandar Raya" for all the local councils in msia? eg DBKL, DBKK? im not sure la. i think as long as these councils still use "Bandaraya" we should just follow this. also, they are names or titles. just like "Johor Bahru" instead of "Johor Baru".. kawaputra 13:13, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

ic. if like that, then i have no problem. we can use 'bandar raya', sure. kawaputra 14:18, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Just want to add on regarding city councils. i just realised that in other English-speaking countries "City Hall" actually refers to the seat, headquarters, or the building which houses the "City Council". So do u think its also wrong for local councils in M'sia to use the term, and call themselves "Dewan Bandaraya X"? It seems that "Majlis Bandaraya X" is fine. Should we still translate, for instance DBKL as "KL City Hall"? Or we need not follow the other english speaking countries.kawaputratok2me 05:36, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

DBKL's official name in english is KL City Hall, for example in this government website. I think we should stick with the official name. If you'd like, u can make an article, and probably explain about this variant that is used in Malaysia (perhaps calling it as a unique case. :P ) --Zack2007 08:00, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Yeah. We just stick to the official then. Regarding Brisbane, actually Brisbane City Hall is the building which houses the Brisbane City Council, the official name of the council. So i guess we'r still unique ;) kawaputratok2me 09:26, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "The Bee"?

Hi. What's up with this edit? What exactly is "The Bee" and what does it have to do with the Qu'ran? Thanks. --SigPig |SEND - OVER 14:12, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

OK, thanks. It does clear this up. It's just very confusing to non-Muslims like myself who are not aware of such naming conventions. I was initially afraid it was some kind of silly vandalism, but I searched back through the history to see who did it, and you don't seem to be the type, so then I figured there was a logical explanation.
If different chapters of the Qu'ran have common names, then perhaps there should be an article about those names, and why they were given; this seems to me to be really useful information. Cheers, and thanks for the quick reply. --SigPig |SEND - OVER 03:33, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

I think if you want to represent stations with interchange it would be better to use the icon for main station (BHF) and (HST) for the other stations or just put in some remarks on the note fields (after the last "|" in the respective station each code line). This is taken from the template develop by the Germans wikipedian. To deviate so from the design would cause confusion in the long run. And to put too much emphasize on the interchanges and relationships between lines would best be suited by a network map.

My suggestion to the format

Fantasy railway line
DST
Rasa (Notes goes here - station not opened for passenger service yet - i.e Rasa, Sri Rampai)
DST
Batang Kali (ditto)
DST
Serendah (ditto)
BHF
RAWANG
BHF
Station W
eABZrg
railway junction to Bolehland
BHF
Victoria Station
BHF
EverythingSentral (Interchange to The Galaxy Railways)
eABZrf
railway junction to La La land
BHF
Station X
KBFe
SEREMBAN

Just my thoughts on these. For my comments on the Rawang-Rasa stations see the Seremban-Rawang talk page.

Cheers

[edit] What do we do now?

Probably a good idea to rename Kuala Lumpur Star Light Rail Transit to Ampang Line (rapid transit system) instead. The confusing naming is going to be difficult to readers because it's still associated with the Ampang-bound line. As for the two lines, simply renaming Ampang Line to Sentul Timur-Ampang line and Sri Petaling Line to Sentul Timur-Sri Petaling line should be better. Did they give specific names to the two lines? - Two hundred percent 07:41, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Light rail transit commonly refers to tram-like trains that run on low-speed rails, occasionally along roadways. I know "light rail transit" is what the transit company still refers both the PUTRA and STAR lines as, but it's an inaccurate description of the nature of the system. The services are more accurately classified as rapid transit systems, due to their traveling speed and railway design. Because the system is simply renamed as the "Ampang Line", there's no restriction to describe in the article's title exactly what form of transit system this is, as it was when it was still known as the STAR LRT.

Secondly, the use of "Ampang Line" and "Ampang Line (disambiguation)" for all three articles are equally confusing because neither two sub-lines are specifically referred to as the Ampang Line, made worst by the fact that the Ampang-bound line is still known publically as the "Ampang Line". Because there are now no current names for the two sub-lines, it's preferable to simply name the lines as per their actual description (i.e. by their start and end route). So long as there is no new names given to the two lines, this "starting station-end station line" naming can still accurately cover the nature of the line, while avoiding the need to change the line's name again and again whenever the transit company sees fit, or the overlapping of the name of the whole system among the main article and sub-articles. - Two hundred percent 08:45, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] logo

Size of the box is 300px and previously every airline that had high quality logo had a 300px image width. The problem was that many logos were really small so they couldn`t be stretched (new ones are actually shrank) so they were put into their maximum width which was usually 100 or 150px. Wikipedia is meant to provide high quality information and not to compile with laptop monitors. Avala 15:03, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tiger Airways Australia correction

Regarding your correction about the hub, you may be correct. However, I believe that only the company headquarters has been announced (Melbourne) and none of the routes. It remains to be seen whether Melbourne will be a hub or a city where there is a substantial number of flights but not a hub.
Your link didn't answer the question. Maybe it changed since then. Thanks for your interest in this article. When I rescued the stub from the AfD debate by substantially re-writting it, I thought of it as "my article" for a short time but now I'm happy that many others have taken over editing.VK35 16:46, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your message and telling me about that sentence. I am not too fussy. However, I think all that means is that Melbourne Airport will have service. They may not develop a hub but fly point to point. So technically, I think we don't have enough information to call it a hub. VK35 16:19, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rail network map

Hi there, Please review my updated rail based network map. Give some inputs if you can. The final version would probably axed the Rasa-Ipoh part, makes the thing too big. You can find it here. More will be added and removed, this is just a rough draft. Thanks --Bukhrin 13:26, 13 May 2007 (UTC).

So I see you have a keen eye. Yes, I placed the komuter stations at 50 pix apart (average) and for the LRTs a bit like 30 pixels. those komuter lines do stick out like sore thumbs.

  • As for the Sungai Besi station, so that you'd know, that all the 3 rail alignments (LRT,KTM,ERL) run parallel to each other for a considerable distance (from Salak South). The first to diverge is the LRT line AFTER Sg Besi Station, the line passes over the KTM/ERL/Sg Besi and PLUS Hiway via the elevated guideway heading west towards Bkt Jalil (hence the crossover). So in effect, the diagram was sadly wrong. I have to point out also the Abdullah Hukum - Angkasapuri part.
  • As for your other point, I sort of understand your concern, but the diagram that I drew is not a standard logical (nodes and connectors) map, but more like a relational diagram. If you'd look into it, it shows the relationships between the intersecting lines, at Hang Tuah you'll see that the LRT runs underneath the monorail and at Masjid Jamek PUTRA underneath STAR. For a Wiki example you can see this, which clearly shows how the loop crosses.
  • As for the interchange stations, just a personal preference, I dislike the usage of circles in a box-station diagram :) .But I'll try to use the circles for interchange but only on real interchange stations. So you can count out Bandaraya-Bank Negara, PWTC-Putra (all those "within walking distance").
  • Lastly, if you have Firework installed, I can e-mail you the master copy of the file (layers not yet flattened), so you can add the map keys/legends. I have to say, I'm not good at doing those.

If you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate. Hopefully I can address and work on them in one sitting whenever I'm not busy. Thanks

--Bukhrin 15:32, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Hullo, I've used the donut thingy for the interchange stations as you had recommended. Though it still looks a bit weird (maybe the KTM lines do poke out). But I'll leave you to comment on that. If you have anything, drop me a line will you? Thanks --Bukhrin 14:13, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed station rename

I had this though for about a few days regarding the naming convention of railway stations in the country. Based on how stations of certain Western rapid transit systems are named, and the fact that Malaysian stations are more commonly referred to simply by their "first" name ("Sentul Timur," "Imbi," "Labu", etc), it may be proper to rename all station names (if available) from "[Official/location name] [system name] station" to "[Official/location name] ([system name] station)" (so "Masjid Jamek LRT station" should be renamed to "Masjid Jamek (Ampang Line and Kelana Jaya Line station)", "Masjid Jamek station (Ampang Line and Kelana Jaya Line)" or "Masjid Jamek (interchange station)"). This doesn't necessarily apply to the article name, but rather to the content of the article. Of course, renaming both is also OK. What's your thought on this? - Two hundred percent 08:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Admin/higher rank?

Forgive me, but I noticed your comment on Talk:Malaysia where you said that it is hard to create a WikiProject unless you are of admin/higher rank.

This is simply not true! As an administrator, I can tell you that all we have over the average editor is the ability to protect and delete pages. The role of admin is simply to handle "cleanup" tasks- like deleting images that aren't used in articles anymore, et cetera. We have no "political" power over normal users. (In fact, there has been some discussion in the past to rename us as "janitors"- in my opinion, a more apt description of the post)

A lot of Wikipedia's most valuable contributors don't have adminship, and a large number of them aren't even interested in running. Please don't be discouraged to embark on big projects on Wikipedia just because you don't have adminship. Borisblue 15:32, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of MAS-Be Airlines

MAS-Be Airlines, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that MAS-Be Airlines satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MAS-Be Airlines and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of MAS-Be Airlines during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. [edit] RapidKL bus schedules on train station articles

I've been thinking about those RapidKL bus schedules on rail station articles (i.e. the Bukit Bintang Monorail station and the Titiwangsa interchange). Since Wikipedia isn't a guidebook, there are grounds for these schedules to be removed, moved to WikiTravel, or summarised. I for one find these schedules a tad bit annoying because many of them disproportionately inflate the article with unrelated info that appears to be geared towards people that actually want to take the bus to or from the stations.

Seems this was practiced on the Singapore MRT articles too. Maybe it's not a good idea to copy all the time. - Two hundred percent 11:00, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

One of the choices is to move the bus schedules to Wikitravel (as "RapidKL buses"), where the schedules are most relevant in. The contents are useful, but for a different use that isn't encouraged in Wikipedia. Deletion may be counterproductive because the work put into it (especially the arrangements in tables and its length) will be wasted. One useful follow-up is to put in the Wikitravel link relevant to a station as an external link in respectable articles. But I'm fine with any of the choices aside keeping the schedules. - Two hundred percent 16:25, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] KC

Hi Zack. As you can see, much is happening with KC at the moment. I have added to his user page, and it would be good to interact with him there. He has also created a page to promote his feelings about arabization, and I have tagged it for speedy deletion. It may stay up, however, so we would need to address that issue. I feel the best approach is to get to know him, speak on the user page, reach concensus. [edit] Air route map

Hi Zack, i just want to tell u that i made a map for air routes in Malaysia: Image:Malaysia air routes.PNG. I put it in the article Transport in Malaysia. Since i see u edting Malaysian transportation articles, I wanted to know what u think of it. Its actually a combination of 3 maps combined into one. Im thinking of putting the individual maps into respective article, eg: Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia. But not sure if its good enough. Any comments welcomed :) kawaputratorque 07:15, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your nice comments. Yes, i realise routes often change. Thankfully, there wont be much problem cos i can just edit the image file in my computer, then go to "upload a new version of this file" in commons. OK, i will change the title of the third map. I will upload individual maps for MAS, AA, MASwings, Firefly, and Berjaya soon. And you can use it however u want. kawaputratorque 07:42, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
I have uploaded the maps. I put it all together here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Malaysia/Cartography. I will improve on the graphics for AA and MAS soon when i have time. And do let me know if there is any change of routes u may encounter. Cheers! kawaputratorque 12:14, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
