Z(4430)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Z(4430) is a new type of meson discovered by the Belle experiment. [1] [2] It has a mass of 4430 MeV.

Unlike the X(3872) meson discovered by the same experiment, this particle has a charge and often claimed to be a four-quark meson. However this is incorrect as its quantum numbers seem to be those of a pion. It has not been established that it belongs to the charmonium family (nor, for that matter, that it exists, as a second experiment has not yet found evidence)
