Yushu (county)

Yushu county (Tib. yus hru’u, Chin. 玉树县 Yushu Xian) is a county of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in southernmost Qinghai province. The county seat is Gyêgu (skye rgu mdo / Jiégǔ Zhèn 结古镇), built in a side valley of the Dri Chu (upper reaches of the Yangtse). In 2000, the county's population amounted to 77.854 people, inhabiting a surface of 13.462 km².
