[edit] Don't Delete Information!
I noticed that a lot of information was deleted form this article a while back. Stuff like the fact the majority of Yousafzais speak Hindko as their mother tongue. If you are not sure then just add information, don't delete information that is already present. Thank You.
well your wrong there because only in the manshera area they speak hindko but all the other areas do actually spaek pakhto. i suggest you journey through the n.w.f.p and see for yourself. majority of yousufzai people do speak pahkto and thats a well established fact
[edit] Merge with "Yusafzai"
This page should be considered for merger with the paged titled "Yusafzai"
well hindko is a nice language BUT yusufzai has their own language Pashto or pukhto, so they dont need other tongues. you can speak hindko and please continue to do so but please dont say that other people , who are not KHARYAAN, like us Yusufzai also speak hindko. sta de khpala jabaa mubarik sha awo zama de khpala. da khuday pa amaan
[edit] (Moved from article)
{the spellings of “Yousaf” are not correct, so the titlr be changed to YUSUF AND Yousaf may be given within brackets. Thus bothnthe articles be merged}
{Yusufzai = {Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslamkhan, Geneticist and Anthropologist, aslamkhanm AT yahoo.com
PS. More latter
[edit] Yusufzai
It should be spelled "Yusufzai" not "Yousafzai." Secondly more than 90% of the Yusufzai tribe speak Pukhto (or Pashto) VERY few speak Hinko and those that do, speak it as a second language. I being a Yusufzai who has lived in NWFP know this!
±==Afghans==
I muhammad yusuf khan being a "yusufzai" want to inform you that mostly people consider us as a paksitani.it's true but our ancestors are from afghanistan you can visit http://www.khyber.org/pashtotribes/y/yusufzai.shtml like other afghanis we are not pure from afghanistan so we called as pathans(pakhtun) of pakistan.no its wrong every one claims to be a yousafzai but every one cant be a yousafzai.i can tell you that yousafzai are only in mardan,peshawer,malakand agency,sawat and dir also.and those people who speak hinko are not yousafzai.they are hinki.
[edit] My History as a Yusufzai
Im a Yusufzai and I was born in Quetta(Pakistan) my forefathers was migrated to Quetta from a small village Near Kandhar (Afghanistan) and that is before the separation of pakistan and india. Some of my forefather's cousins went to NUKUR(India) to seek work. they are still in India and we now belong to pakistan. As they were lived in India they speak URDU and we spaek Pukhto. the whole history heading does'nt tells that many of us YUSUFZAI live in Quetta also. I will be writing more about our history here in coming days. S.I.Khan--member311 05:19, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] purity
Concerning the statement "Their manner of speaking Pashto is universally recognised as being the purest among all Pashtun tribes" (emphasis added):
By and large, each Pashtun considers his own dialect to be the 'normal' way to speak Pashto, although the Kandahari dialect enjoys the most prestige (at least among the Kandaharis), and serves as the basis for the writing system. [...] It is highly probable that one tribe's opinion of another's dialect of Pashto reflected, and still reflects, the tribe's general opinion of the other. [Tegey & Robson 1996,* page 7]
I therefore recommend deleting that statement.

[edit] Tanoli claims to be Yusufzai
Can any knowledgable user throw any light on this issue? Do the Yusufzai accept Tanolis as a branch of Yusufzai? Can you come on to the Tanoli talk page and discuss this as there is a user claiming this but hasn't helped with any evidence. Thanks--Alcides 12:29, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Supposed Theories of Origin
Please do not post ridiculous myths like any that link Pashtun tribes to the lost tribes of Israel. That "theory" was a rumour designed byt eh Mughals to deny the Pashtun people of their land. Pashtuns have been genetically examined and have been found to be of Eastern Iranic ancestry as well as some Kushan and Hephthalite admixture. Pashtuns are neither descended from Israelites nor are they descendants of Arabs (Khalid bin Walid). zakka 21:26, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
