No, there certainly is not a lot of "scope for flexibility regarding a person's style of writing" in this project"; we're trying to create a sound reference work. The context in which a piece is written, is an article in an encyclopedia, giving information to persons interested in the subject matter of the article; nothing more, nothing less. The stylistic preferences of the subject are totally irrelevant. What you write in and for the forum is one thing. What you write in and for Wikipedia is another entirely. You may see what we want as "very straight, very dull" by forum standards; but it's what we need and want for this encyclopedia.
