I know SlinCraze in real life and i'd like to write about him, but because i lack sources, anything I write about him would almost be like original research. I guess my question would be: Should I still do it and is it necessary to provide sources?

Go ahead and write about him. Having at least some sources would be great, but it is not entirely necessary at least when starting an article. But please browse through Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons.
