The Yuma Scorpions are a baseball team that plays in the independent Golden Baseball League and Arizona Winter League, based in Yuma, Arizona.
- Notable:
- The team occupies the spring training ballpark and complex used by the San Diego Padres from 1969 - 1993.
- Jason "Mad Dog" Matlock has served as the team's general manager since the second season in 2006. He replaced Pat Brown.
- Career minor leaguer Benny Castillo was the manager during the first two seasons before landing a job within the Detroit Tigers organization.
- Manager Mike Marshall was also given the title as team president and has authority to release players and bring in new talent. Shannon Hunt is the pitching coach and Pete Whisler is the hitting instructor.
- The Scorpions won the inaugural Arizona Winter League Championship with a 7-6 victory over the Canada Miners in February 2007.
- The team name was voted on by members of the community prior to the inaugural year. Scorpions beat out Amigos, Banditos, Chili Peppers and Sun Birds.
- Mitch McLaughlin can be heard broadcasting road games live on KBLU-560 AM.
- During 2006, then -Scorpions outfielder Juan Lebron received a lifetime ban from the Golden Baseball League for angrily hurling his bat in the direction of an umpire.
- The team's mascot's (Stinger) costume is actually a frog from when the Yuma Bullfrogs played in the Western Baseball League. The modified costume added a tail to the frog, making it a Scorpion.
