Yukiko Kada (嘉田由紀子 Kada Yukiko?) (born May 18, 1950) is the governor of Shiga Prefecture. She is the first female governor of Shiga and the fifth female governor in Japanese history. She was first elected in 2006 defeating incumbent governor Yoshitsugu Kunimatsu. Prior to being elected governor she was a professor of environmental sociology at Kyoto Seika University. She is a member of the SDP or Social Democratic Party.
