Yuhki Kamatani (鎌谷 悠希 Kamatani Yuhki?, born June 22, 1983) is a female manga writer and illustrator. Kamatani was born in Hiroshima, Japan, and is author of Nabari no Ō (隠の王? lit. Ruler of Nabari) and Liberamente (リベラメンテ ~鎌谷悠希短編集~?). Monthly GFantasy has published, or is in this process of publishing, both works.[1][2] Kamatani states that her own favorite manga includes Naruto and Ninja Scroll,[3] and that she is fond of Dogs.[3]
Kamatani's current work, Nabari no Ō, was a finalist under the Story Manga division in the ninth Japan Media Arts Festival in 2005 and was ultimately recommended by the Committee.[4]
Kamatani worked with J.C.Staff to create a twenty-six episode anime adaptation Nabari no Ō Directed by Kunihisa Sugishima, the series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo on April 6, 2008. The episodes subsequently air on other TXN networks, including TV Aichi and TV Osaka. An English translation of the manga is expected to be released in early 2009 by Yen Press. [5]
