A screenshot of Yudit ([1]) representing the capability of displaying various scripts (or boxes if the configured font cannot display certain characters, Japanese in the example).

I opened the following UTF-8 encoded text file (prepared by myself)

Russian русский язык 
Greek Ελληνικά 
Japanese 日本語
Arabic 'عربية
Armenian Հայերեն
Amharic አማርኛ
Hebrew עברית 
Georgian ქართული 
Slovene slovenščina

and made the screenshot using ksnapshot of KDE 3.3 at my FreeBSD machine. The font used was Titus Cyberbit.
