[edit] Plot

The story revolves around a young cook named Ysabella Cuenca. At an early age, Ysay develops an inclination for cooking, and dreams of becoming a great cook like her mother, Rosario Cuenca.

However, her mother's misfortune causes Ysay to taste the bitterness of life. This teaches her to be meticulous and devoted to her cooking; and cynical when it comes to love. She grows with one goal in mind—to be the best cook in their area and exact revenge on the woman who was responsible for her mother's misery.

Along the way, Ysay meets two men who will show her how sweet it is to fall in love. Who will give her the right mixture of happiness? Will it be the cocky, street-smart Andrew Amarillo or the hot chef Mito Valenzuela? Or... Will it be dashing Albert Amarillo who seeks Justice for his twin, Andrew?

The pilot episode of Ysabella garnered a 28.9% in Mega Manila households according to AGB Nielsen. Its ratings were above average in its first two months, the highest was 31.5% while the lowest was 23.4%.

Starting the month of September, it was placed on later timeslots to give way to newer shows such as Kokey, Pangarap na Bituin, Lastikman, Princess Sarah, Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2, Maging Sino Ka Man and Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara. It started to get low ratings, it even reached its lowest: 13.9%, while the highest was 26.5%. However, there were some days that Ysabella rated higher than other ABS-CBN primetime shows despite a very late timeslot.

On its finale weeks, it never gained the ratings it reached on its pilot weeks because it was pitted against GMA-7's strong shows such as MariMar and La Vendetta. The show ended on January 18, 2008 with a 22.6% Mega Manila rating against La Vendetta's finale episode which garnered a rating of 33.4%. [2]

The show was extended many times, due it was one of the network top rater show. The show was popular in urban areas in the Philippines ,excluding Mega Manila area, even beating it's rival show Marimar sometimes. But, the show was top rater in it's pilot week/month in Mega Manila, but when the show was put in a later timeslot, the show rating suddenly decreases.
