Youth Symphony West

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Youth Symphony West is a symphony orchestra for youths ranging from elementary schools to college. It is part of the association of Saturday Music Conservatory. Its conductor, Tom Mazur, is also the director of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District Orchestra in Ontario, CA. This is a rather relaxed group compared to other youth symphonies because of its fun nature.

[edit] Music

The orchestra is composed primarily of string instruments, but also has other sections of woodwinds and brass, includng flutes, an oboe, clarinets, trumpets, french horns, and trombone. Unfortunately, it is not as famed as other major youth symphonies in California, its instrumentation is great. Their last big performance of Beethoven's Symphony No.7 was great. The group is growing every year and getting better every year.
