"Your Ghost" is the first track and the only single from Kristin Hersh's debut acoustic solo album Hips and Makers. The recorded version features R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe singing backing vocals. It is one of Hersh's more enduringly popular songs, and has recently been performed live by her punk rock band 50 Foot Wave, as well as being a favorite of audiences at her solo performances.
It has been covered by Dandy Warhols and is a live favourite.
also famous Dj Scott Brown used a sample of the song in his song ghosts.
According to Filmmaker Magazine, the music video for the song was directed by Katherine Dieckmann and is an homage to Maya Deren's groundbreaking 1943 experimental film Meshes of the Afternoon.
