You Gave Me the Answer is a song written by Paul McCartney for the album Venus and Mars. It had a dancing ambience, and sounded very much like New Orleans, Louisiana, where they recorded the song. Paul's vocals on the song are very treated. It sounds a bit as if he was on the telephone with a friend. In 1976, at the Seattle Kingdome, Paul dedicated this song to Fred Astaire.
