After the closing credits, the words "Brenda, we miss you" appear under the photograph of Brenda Carlin, his wife of 36 years before her death from liver cancer.

During the "Kids and Parents" skit, Carlin makes a reference to being Mr. Conductor. This is true because he played the character on Shining Time Station, as well as narration Thomas the Tank Engine, a series within the show. In which by saying "This is Mr. Conductor talkin', I know what I'm talkin' about."
