You'll Never Make Love in This Town Again

You'll Never Make Love In This Town Again (ISBN 0-7871-0404-3) is a book published in January 1996 which describes four prostitutes' stories about their sexual encounters with Hollywood celebrities, including Warren Beatty, David Crosby, Jack Wagner, Vanna White and Billy Idol, among others. Sisters Robin Greer and Liza Greer are contributors. A sequel, Hooking Up: You'll Never Make Love in This Town Again Again, was released in 2006 and includes accounts of Brad Pitt and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In March 1996, Alexandra Datig sued publisher Dove Books in Los Angeles Superior Court for breach of contract, libel, and several other causes of action, and also sued Dove executive Michael Viner for sexual harassment. Essentially, Datig alleged that substantial portions of the book You'll Never Make Love In This Town Again were credited to her but were not the text she had submitted for publication. In violation of the contract she had signed, the publishers had refused to let her see any drafts or galley proofs before the book was released to retail. The action was dismissed by the Superior Court on October 23, 1996, after a rather unusual series of events, but on July 15, 1999, it was reinstated and remanded for further proceedings by the Court of Appeal (Second District).

In its published opinion, the Court of Appeal expressly noted that "it appears that defense counsel violated several statewide rules of court and local rules, and that these violations resulted in unnecessary litigation and cost to plaintiff and her attorney in time and money," and instructed the Superior Court to consider sanctions against defendants and their attorneys.[1]
