An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:DSCN2613.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. [edit] Image tagging for Image:5579529.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:5579529.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Tagging articles
If you tag an article, please leave reasons why on the article's talk page. Otherwise we can't figure out what the concern is.
I have RVed the tagging to interceptor. I think I know what you were trying to say from the checkin note, but the article seems very balanced to me. Most of the sections lead off with an example from the USSR.

[edit] Commercial use of Image:20070224-DSCN3343.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:20070224-DSCN3343.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:20070224-DSCN3343.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:20070224-DSCN3343.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 04:20, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Airblueself.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Airblueself.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:24, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Airblueself.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Airblueself.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 22:40, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lal Masjid
The reference you posted did not mention anything regarding the MMA's body count. Aside from that fact, the MMA is not a reputable organization and is known for exaggerating, and also, 800-1000 is an impossible total which does not even deserve consideration at this point. Afinebalance 05:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Please only post this claim ONCE you are able to reference it to an article that cites that number specifically. The article you have attached as a reference contradicts the MMA's claim and reports only between 86-102 casualties, which is why it's not accepted. Also, since this is an English article, the references should be English as well. Politically motivated numbers are absolutely unacceptable on Wikipedia. Afinebalance 05:35, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Then the Npov status of this article will be in doubts.I think those people who will be reading this article can also speak urdu!.The dawn reff was for Goverments claims.User talk:Yousaf465
Excuse me, do you understand how an encyclopedia works? The NPOV status of the article is lost when people begin to write things without referencing them, like you have. You cannot put the claim of 800-1000 claims as an official estimate at the top of the page when you use a government reference of 102. You can place it as a legitimate estimate once multiple news sources (especially non-Indian) are referring to it as a possible claim.
Also, the South Asian media itself is filled with corruption, hypocrisy and exaggeration, and most of them simply don't belong in a legitimate article. Half of the articles say "300 coffins" while Indian media have increased it to "800 coffins", and either of those may have been for precautionary measures. Hundreds of people have been taken to jail, and so on. Please don't bring this sensationlist style of news into this article, and wait until there are multiple and legitimate news sources and after all possible reasons have been elimated. Afinebalance 05:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
They made that ruling to keep journalists away from the hospital because you cannot save people's lives when you have dozens of brainless Pakistani reporters blocking ambulances and doctors from doing their jobs. It is difficult to hide 700 extra deaths in ambulances while the media watches along the road, and so on. You must wait for a final answer before reporting such garbage from anti-government people who don't have an education, otherwise feel free to apply as a reporter to ARY or GEO, which were an embarassment to Pakistan because of their reporting, just like most news agencies from our country. [edit] Hello
Hi Yousuf,
I hope we didn't get off two the wrong start. I love Pakistan and I love writing for Pakistan on wikipedia. You are more than welcome to contribute to Lal Masjid Siege infact you should but make you sure you don't interject your personal opinion when writing on wikipedia. Mercenary2k 05:58, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I could use your help on the casualties for the militants, students in the red mosque. See from July 3 to July 10 or something, 20-30 militant students were killed in clashes with the Army. When the Army raided, 90 or so militant students died. Can you find the proper references for the number of students that died prior to the attack ?
Thanks

[edit] ya
i am on line...why? Mercenary2k 04:10, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- already did. The article should be called Lal Masjid Siege because thats what it was. Calling it a tragedy is like calling the Virginia Tech Massacare a Tragedy or the Siege of Leningrad a Tragedy. Call it what it is. Mercenary2k 04:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hmmm, what do you mean? I dont understand the picture. Its a picture of a PIA planeMercenary2k 04:15, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

- should i go ahead and post it on PIA wiki.User talk:Yousaf465

- Go for it post the pic. As for calling the Lal Masjid Siege a tragedy. That still doesn't apply. Look at Moscow theatre hostage siege. The article calls it a siege even though it was Russian citizens vs Russian citizens even though the ethnicity were Chechen. So calling it a tragedy won't work. It should be called a Siege becuase that is what this was. Our brave Army against these cowardly terrorists. Mercenary2k 04:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Man people took the law into their own hands. They said they were planning suicide attacks. They were setting buildings on fire, they kidnapped people, they attacked the police and the army. The government gave them countless opportunities to surrender but they didn't. What else do you expect the government to do? I don't understand why you are siding with these terrorists who have killed hundreds of our brave soldiers. I really don't. If you hate Musharraf, then thats fine. But you can't support these people as they undermine the sovereignty of Pakistan.Mercenary2k 05:15, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Why is it evertime that a person goes against the Islamic Terrorists in Pakistan like the Lal Mosque goons, people like you blame the media for brainwashing me? I get my news from multiple sources and I have enough brains to make up my own mind. The Army did wait. It waited for 8 Days to let these people surrender. It send it countless religious, political people to persuade the people to surrender. It tried and tried but to no avail. People like you are always gonna come up with stupid conspiracy theories that the Zionist Mush under orders from his Jewish Masters ordered the attack, etc, etc, etc...Give it up. I have had countless debates on this issue. What angers me is that people like you don't support Pakistan, don't support our troops when they are fighting terrorists. I don't need to be in Pakistan to understand what is going on. I have been there enough times, to know the political climate of that country, as well as the going ons over there. The real situation was that a bunch of jihal maulvis took over a mosque started preaching hate under orders from their Arab masters living in FATA areas. The government tolerated their nonsense but after 6 months they decided to act. And I am glad they did but I only wished they acted sooner. Now your buddies have killed over 100 of our troops and started suicide bombing all over Pakistan. We DO NOT APPEASE Terrorists. The people in Lal Mosque were TERRORISTS and they deserved what they got. Mercenary2k 07:18, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pl. contribute to Tipu Sultan
Since Tipu was a common hero and much of his history is still plagued (in WP atleast) with biases & historical inaccuracies, I suggest we try to improve this article by adding sourced statements en route to becoming a FA. On a similar note, I feel Aurangzeb also has great potential, if ppl put aside their petty quarrels to make it a fine example of a biography although of a controversial man. --Idleguy 05:07, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- yes it could be a valuable insight to the man from an "inside" perspective. I didn't know his lineage - at least some - is now in Lahore. But I think he must be like great-great-great-grandson atleast? --Idleguy 10:37, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when.
