Talk:Younger and junior versions of cartoon characters

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Famous classic cartoon stars" is pretty redundant. Can we rename this article, perhaps to Child versions of cartoons? - DavidWBrooks 22:00, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] adding older versions and others

we've recently finished the older versions of cartoon characters and we've been wondering if we could merge and also add new articles like junior versions were the child is the main star like James Bond Jr. and father and son versions like Scooby and Scrappy and etc

First of all, if you wish to sign your name, I'd suggest A) registering with Wikipedia to get a user account, and B) place ~~~~ after your name to automatically see it signed. Also, there's already an "older versions of cartoon characters" page, so I'm deleting this extraneous info... Anthony Dean 11:56, August 30, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Disney Babies

What about the Disney Babies? I don't know if they had their own animation cartoon, but at least there seems to have been quite many comics made about them in Europe. This link seems to mention something about them, although it's dead for the moment... http://users.cwnet.com/xephyr/rich/dzone/hoozoo/dta.html

[edit] What about Teeny Tiny Girl Squad?

I mean, they are internet charaters, but they are still child versions of themselves!

[edit] X-Men Evolution

X-Men evolution is a weird one.

Cyclops and Jean Grey were portrayed as adults in the cartoon, not teens. With Storm and Wolverine, this maps to the adult characters seen in the X-Men movie. So my thoughts have been that X-Men Evolution is a cartoon based on the movie, rather than on the comic.

Shadowcat really isn't much of a younger character in XME as she's a teenager in the comic (and in the movie) anyway. Toad's character has a different name to his comic version so could be argued to be a new (or retooled) character.

Cyke and Jean were teens in the cartoon. Of course, they were also teens in the 1960s comics... Daibhid C 20:14, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question

Is this article going to be fixed specifically to the topic of cartoon characters depicted in their youth, or can we include Tiny Toon Adventures (which features descendants of the Looney Tunes stars) or James Bond Jr. (who is James Bond's nephew)?

Good question: I've just added the X-Babies (clones) without thinking that through. We'll see if anyone complains 8-) Daibhid C 20:16, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Taz Mania episode

Does anyone remember the one episode where the execs(cartoon versions) were viewing new versions of Taz Mania and one of the proposed episodes was Taz Babies? Would that belong on here? I just thought I'd suggest it. Thanks. ChrisRJ 15:20 PDT 22 July 2006

[edit] Merge from Junior versions of cartoon characters

Per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Junior versions of cartoon characters, I've rescoped this article to include Junior versions of cartoon characters, renaming Younger versions of cartoon characters to Younger and junior versions of cartoon characters and redirecting Junior versions of cartoon characters here. I haven't added all the material from Junior; if anyone feels it's worth doing please do. Quarl (talk) 2007-03-02 07:39Z

[edit] Pocket Fighter can not be considered on this article

As long as the japanese fighting game shows deformed versions of the characters of the game (as is something common in japanese anime) for comic behavior, the game can not be consider as it uses kids versions of the characters

[edit] A Possible Addition

In the Simpsons episode, "Springfield Up," we see parts of character Declan Desmond's documentary, "Growing up Springfield," featuring several Simpsons characters when they are children and following their progress as they grow older. Should this be added to the list?
